Hmm, if that is the case then Streamyx has a big problem. During thunderstorms, my connection is often reset and have to wait awhile before it comes back again. Sigh. sweat.gif
From what I'm seeing, those other players have like recognized big shots for the government not exactly pushing them.

Wah normally during thunderstorms, I turn off all my modems, pc, tv etc... scared it's struck by lightning mah..have seen it happen one too many times.

Yup, yet again. That was totally disappointed and frustrated. Even now it's up back. But the speed sucks.

I'm not really worried anymore as I've full confidence in my CAL-LAB lighting isolator. tongue.gif

That's very odd. I thought the rain shouldn't affect Wimax as much. Hmm...or maybe, the towers to lightning sensitive. hmm.gif

Most of the international ping could be high within the range of 300ms-700ms or maybe over than that.

Pinging youtube.l.google.com [208.65.153.253] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 208.65.153.253: bytes=32 time=290ms TTL=238
Reply from 208.65.153.253: bytes=32 time=302ms TTL=238
Reply from 208.65.153.253: bytes=32 time=281ms TTL=238
Reply from 208.65.153.253: bytes=32 time=296ms TTL=238

About the data limitation, they don't really give an actual answer. So far what they usually told customer was that, Speed will be shape with you meet the limitation.

If you were from Genting Kelang, then you have to think twice, because that area already famous with a lot of problem. Everyday you won't know what signal or speed you got. The service around that area still unstable. When comes to night, The speed can drop until 50%-70%. I don't really know what's going on there but just hope there's a improvement. You can try if you want too ^^"

Well, that's only one user's feedback, can't judge a service by one user right...have to give some time and when they finish the whole Malaysia implementation, then we can judge where the service standard lies.

Count me in...
I'm also W1Max user in Jalan Genting Kelang Area.

When I'm a Trial User, the speed in this area WAS fabulous.
But since after official launch of W1Max in this area, the speed dropped significantly especially the Upload speed and the connection quite unstable.

We really can't compare it which is not under the same technology, Streamyx is ADSL that using copper wire to run, but P1 is under WiMax that depends on mircowave. What i can tell you is that, Streamyx can provide a really consistent speed all the way you downloading a file or surfing a web.

Meanwhile P1w1max's speed is not that consistent, it keep jumping from 100kbps to the max speed you can reach. Sometimes you will get speed hang because of the crazy jumping speed. You go those flash speedtest to do some testing, it really can't give a actual speed what you got, We can't judge the speed through those speedtest, It only show the last speed on the a test and you not really can see the process of downloading a file, if suddenly the speed drop until 200kbps, but the flash speedtest still showing a quite high speed because flash speedtest didn't show a instant drop of the speed, it just slow droping. The best to do a real test, is to download a file with a bandwidth speedmeter. Then you will know the actual speed you got and how consistent is it.
