QUOTE(etsuko @ Sep 23 2008, 08:44 PM) Someone online did comment on the business model they were planning to take. The whole view ad before you're able to use the service after you login. But this business model failed in many places I suppose to due its lack in impact. perhaps REDTone bought the license from anthr distributor?? just like how DIGI bought the 3g License from timenet hahahahaAnyway, I heard P1 is going to supply the Wimax connections in Penang. But funnily enough, I recently saw in the papers REDTone is providing the wireless there or something. And wasn't REDTone the other Wimax licensee. |

QUOTE(chingeh @ Oct 3 2008, 01:45 PM) No most of my friends are obviously on streamyx. There is a forumer near my place who says he is happy with the speed as well and agrees on the need for good modem placement. He experiences slowdowns at night, which i don't so far. thanks for some of your insight thoughts on it, hope you'll use it happily for the next few months within the 1 year.... =DThis is my simple take : 1) UNHAPPY Streamyx subscriber - getting speeds below 1Mb/s Try it out. You have 15 days to give it back. to taste the pie you might stand to loose RM50 in admin charges. This is me. If TM had a 2MB line closer to ~100 i might be willing to pay. so my decision is simply on whether to pay RM10 more better speed on W1MAX 1.2M. There's why there's no verdict 2) HAPPY Streamyx subscriber What the heck are you doing in this forum ? But seriously if you're in a new area with new infra speeds can be pretty good. So you might be happy going for TMNet for a new line. The rest of the considerations like 20GB cap are really on technicalities. Although i realize it's got an effect on me coz i've slowed down on my torrents but recently realizing there's a cap i'm downloading like crazy. human nature no? No ISPs nowadays will not have in their T&Cs some form of fair use or bandwidth capping disclaimer. What they'll do to cap you or if there really is a cap i'll need to find out myself or maybe wait for some other forumers to confirm it. Although i have to agree that even for me without an active torrent lifestyle, youtube itself can be a real sucker and 20G/month if insufficient. But maybe they were thinking of the more casual surfers, which if you think rationally, is quite a bit. BTW i took W1MAX 1 year contract at RM99 instead of RM89 because i am certain the landscape and price will change soon. 2 years if i'm still at these speeds at the same price i'll be terribly disappointed. QUOTE(p4n6 @ Oct 4 2008, 04:32 PM) Look like Klang and JB also added into the list now. i think government push them to do so wan ler...They jumped too far, how about those in klang valley ... |
