Anyone facing error message which says something like

'no answer from remote computer/connection, so the port used are closed. blablabla for Help and More info lablabla'

So some reason i was unable to connect to 3G from one of my office these few days. But previously, i had no problem connecting, the speed is superb.

Called the CS, told me that my office is actually only PARTIALLY 3G COVERED (WTF) thus i was unable to connect. Asked me to used GPRS instead.

After changing the setting for GPRS only, i did manage to connect, but not able to surf the net at all.

.... Geeez...
edit : Perfectly fine to connect from other places. Currently on Maxis 3G connecting from another location...

if u read my previous posts, i had d same prob too last week (for almost a week long) at my home area. but then 1 nite when the prob gone, suddenly the speed & connection stability got better than b4. mayb.. just mayb.. maxis is upgrading their service.

don't want, don't care.

i wanted to keep Maxis 3G as a secret thing most people doesn't know about. it failed miserably

Umm..don't you think if you talk about Maxis 3G in this thread, more MWBB heavy downloaders would switch to Maxis3G? hmm.gif

Thanks cloudstrife07. If we didn't use P2P, I think it's a bit hard to hit over 3GB or 5GB usage per month. What do you guys think? Has anyone reach the limit that is not using any P2P?

im not using p2p at all and yet im over 3GB almost every month smile.gif

nah, im just telling jeremynet that even normal usage of internet without p2p, my BW usage is more than 3GB already..hence maxis's TnC seems ridiculous to me.lol.

i see. ridiculous tho, coz all the while i didn't realize any throttling on my speed. disconnection, yes but speed decrement, no. a case of bias?

i gave up with maxis already. when i finished studying here in gmi, i'll terminate the contract, which is around mid-june.

i got only 1 full week of fast internet. the rest?sucky UMTS mode where i cant even load pages properly. and sometimes i couldn't connect at all.

all i get from the customer service is that "we're upgrading the towers in your area to provide better service" shit.

sigh.

and now i'm on HSDPA, but the speed on my phone using GPRS is better i guess.

fark Maxis BB customer service and technical team.
Totally the same as TMnuts ... typical Malaysia company..

Been complaining over my issue for 1 whole week.
Keep asking me to change setting from my side and finally after i got fed up with a few tries... the technical teams says it is a network error. Promises an answer within 3 working days.

Called up again today to inquire it. Was told that there were no cases reported for my account. The bloody kind CS offers to report it again and told me, it'll take a farking 7 days and when i asked for a case/report number, he said he'll call me later and give it me ..

wTF .. what kind of system are they running on? No report number generated after reporting? Need to wait?

I admit the speed of the connection is fast when everything is ok, but .. it has been more than 1 farking week that i can't connect from my office.

same sentiment here. and what makes me more fed up with them is that no rebates for our disconnection period, which is for me around 2 weeks. even screamyx gave rebates during this dark hour of internet in malaysia.

I've been using MaxisBB for almost a year now. No complaints except the already-known-slow-connection. Yet, two weeks ago, the connection became from lousy to TERRIBLE! I get frequent disconnection although the modem page says it's connected. And sometimes, limited connection.

I called up the customer service, and as we all know, they suck. Keep asking me to reset this that and everything else. I told them to save their saliva because I've already tried all the setting combination possible and it's not working. flex.gif

They also asked where I'm living, so I said it's a high rise building on level 7, and they went like, "Ohh, it is difficult up there". Difficult your a** la, I've been using it for almost one year, and suddenly one fine day, it's difficult??? (ok, well, I didn't exactly say a**, hehe). Finally, after harassing them twice that day, they asked me to bring my modem to the counter to check. whistling.gif

Yesterday, I went to KLCC and demanded to CHANGE the modem. Funny thing is, the first question that came out of they staff's mouth is, "Yes Miss, termination?" Wakakaka!! Anyway, changed my modem and he tried to show me that the modem is fine by going online. I said "Fine" but I thought, well, I know how this stupid connection works, "Berlagak baik depan orang Maxis!" Haha. doh.gif

So, went home, tried to connect, failed, try again, failed, nevermind - maybe connection is trying to establish itself, then connect again, ok-pass. But after sometime, I noticed it's doing it again - the same type of problem I had for the past two weeks. Only this time, it wasn't so bad.

I'm beginning to seriously think about termination. Maybe I'll try again later tonight, and if it fails on me, I'm gonna send it back for good tomorrow eh. I don't know what other broadband can support my area.. Haihh.. What's weird is Screamyx can't (although I could see their bloody tower from my apartment!). Sigh~ icon_question.gif

I've tried my friend's Maxis Broadband and most of the areas I went to were slow but in Damansara Utama, it is blazing fast.

connection down since Feb until today, and now i only can connected to their GPRS mode ... !@#$%^$#@% in other word means cannot use at all.

i called maxis broadband tech, they said they aware of the problem and will do the upgrade/checking need to wait until end of March. !#$@#%^$#@$#%$

so i ask for waive charge for this two months, they said only can proceed with the waive when the connection is back to normal ... so now i'm paying for nothing! @#%$#@$%#
