it is a bit confusing on the front page for streamline... but if you click further... you will find that you only need to be AUSTRALIAN RESIDENTS where we all are residents... http://www.commbank.com.au/personal/accoun...ed/default.aspx

also here, you can find that your monthly fees are waived as long as you are a full time student... http://www.commbank.com.au/personal/accoun...es/default.aspx

hmmm... the 2k to open account only then after opening can withdraw one... but it's FREE for everyone, so student or student also not much difference...

hhah yesss, i guess so. i'm pretty white-washed so to speak. umm.. how? thru another forum.. tongue.gif needless to say.. they hated my guts there biggrin.gif they all went psycho at me:D

i told them that trying to create a higher nose bridge on asians was like basically them trying to conform to the standards of western beauty.. they went INSANE. the only chick that agreed with me was another girl from america who was able to see my valid points tongue.gif anyway YEP:p

they were all like we're ONLY enhancing our "beauty" blah blah, they then went to point out like freaking less than a handful of asian celebs with nice noses and i was like HAH cuz that really represents the majority doesn't it biggrin.gif

*ends rant*

sorry if it doesn't all make sense... hahah tongue.gif

Are Aussies study freaks or they just enjoy life as much as they can?

Like in Malaysia, some are really bookworms to the max, some just don't care about their lives and do whatever they want.

Is Australia's life style better than Msia and in what way?

I'm going to Australia at 2012 and I want to know more about Aus. smile.gif

For me, study here is far more better than Malaysia, why?
maybe because I am not those kinds of people that can sit in front of the book for more than 1 hours(gonnna cry.gif )
- Get yourself into the Lect and Tutorial class every times (dun be late).
- ASK ASK ASK (be a question maker -- but not stupid question).
- Assignment is your SCORING chance dun waste it. I mostly got 80~100% for all my assignment.
- Group Study.. thumbup.gif

hmm for me, i never buy any book for my study. coz those book can be get from the library and about 3 months loan. Save abit.

I do find Australia more competitive than Malaysia, both academically and economically, but it could be the industry I'm in (IT & Finance). If one is only looking to pass, it is easy to do so. However, to excel and graduate top of the class and be out there among the industry's best is very difficult as the competition is very intense near the top.

The lifestyle here emphasises work-life balance, but if you factor in the higher tax rates, higher mortgage repayments, higher cost of living overall, it can become pretty stressful (not to say Malaysia isn't suffering from the same problems though but our petrol and staple prices are tightly-controlled!).

Yeah, you can do that by Bank, but commbank going to charge you $28 AUD, and ANZ charge you $24AUD.
You can do that through online, or get yourself into thier branch.
The others ways to transfer money is using some Currency Converter Parties(not really safe and not all do). Its work like this : you pay them in Australia with eg $1000 and they charge you dunno how many %. Then they will contact CCP in Malaysia and you can get your money there. (***I NOT SURE IS THAT LEGAL OR NOT***)

Ya KV, i referred to your useful first post more than once but i'm looking for more detailed information about the benefits based on real experience. Is that most of you choose Commonwealth banks? How about other banks?
