ok another curious question which i have already tried googling it but didn't really get my answers...
should i neuter/spay both male and female or is it okay to perform on one of them only?
just curious what will the outcome be if we have these combinations:
neutered male + normal female
normal male + spayed female
I think Stalkie and jaswwp already got the answer for that spot on. Neutering has more benefits than just to avoid pregnancy. It's also to subdue their territorial behaviour, which believe me can get uncontrollable, when being with another rabbit. i remember reading about this at one of the websites, sorry couldnt furnish u the url as i dont remember it and im at work right now. The website highly discourage keeping 2 un-neutered bunnies in the same cage (including your 2 examples above), so much as to say its impossible. Ofcoz as stated on the main page, neutering helps with health issues later on too.
I'm happy with Pebbles now. One day after neutering i realise he tend to eat more hay. He's actually more energetic( i dont know how this is possible, but its true). He has also made my couch his new favourite resting spot (last time he only jump on and off). He also somehow becomes closer to you, i mean follow where ever u go and actually do respond to his name?? Ok, i dont think he recognise his name, but he respond to you calling him over.
Overall (ok this may be my imagination), i think he's happier and less snappy and aggressive. However he still chew on wire (BUGGER!!!) though, and just put my internet connection at home off line last nite.
Well, conclusion, no regrets on my part for neutering rabbits and would highly recommend to others. Ofcoz at your own risks la.

Added on January 18, 2008, 10:50 amDo you guys think that the reason most vets have no experience with rabbits is because well, much less fewer take their rabbits there for checkups? No chance to practise = no experience. And rabbits being zoo animal, their behaviour and health care are diffirent from domestic animals(cats, dogs,). They also dont cost that much to purchase and i guess most owners(im just guessing here) couldnt give a damn about paying for their exorbitant medical bills.
Hilang satu beli lagi! And since most ppl do not know of forums on the internet such as this to provide and share information, most ppl would just give up when their first or second rabbit fall sick and die. Personally im glad i found this thread. Good job guys!

when he saw i bring rabbit, first thing he said: " oh arnab...payah sikit lah..x ramai bwk arnab sini..tahun ini ini kali pertama.."(he's lying,i remember i bring my rabbit there only a week before )
then he said there's no medicine for my bunnies..bla bla bla..he ask me to urut the bunny with oil myself at home..or the last choice he said to me..semelih saja..dagingnya sedap jugak..
The assistant is a d*ckH*ad. I wonder if the jabatan haiwan got anything to do with WWF, coz the amount of donation they get from public, they could atleast make sure qualified ppl are hired. Asking ppl to eat their pets is like so
WTF.
