Go here: Camera Lense Cover N95 8GB -Spare Parts

This one good for me la tongue.gif my cover is scratch beyond repair, lol.
I have a question: Hmm.... can we go to NCC and ask to change the casing? The whole casing? Can ah?
Do any of you knows how much? Ori casing la... dont want the imitation one.
*
Probably not, because as far as I know most of the NCC don't have the spare parts for this model yet. You may try you luck at the Headquarter in Berjaya Plaza though.

Hehe I posted the similar link for you earlier... laugh.gif

You can check out the seller's other item, he seems to sell the whole housing too, but, roughly RM300+- for full housing...Maybe the seller sell expensive lo... blink.gif

Hmm did you had your network remained dual mode? Your battery life seems to be even longer than mine...Mine only can achieve more than 3 and 1/2 full day with GSM only, going to test with dual mode again... laugh.gif

Well I actually dont need to change the full housing. I saw from the same website the camera lense and the whole back cover (minus the battery cover) are about £28 including postage (this is to post in UK address price). That is quite cheap I think... I only need to change this 2 parts, the rest of my phone is still scratch free, hehe. Would save a lot of money if ask a friend to buy there and bring back la than u buy from here, postage will be more expensive than the item bought, haha!

Hmmm, I think the better your reception coverage, the longer your battery will last? Hmm.. let's look at it by logic tongue.gif
If you put dual mode the phone doesnt strain to get either reception, if cannot this and then use the other one...
while if you only put 1 mode (either GSM or UMTS), the phone has to work a bit more scanning the reception? Cos it only uses one?
Hehehe, dunno la, this one is not back up by any technical explanation la, me clever2 think logic only. biggrin.gif
But I also wonder how come my battery can tahan la... but as you see, I don't fully utilise the multimedia functions of the phone for the last 3 days, I believe the battery will last very long if you dont use the multimedia function so much... the screen brigtness, dual mode etc is insignificant in battery consumption, IMHO.

@Ash
Yeah I think in Malaysia they don't have the spare parts yet. The one I saw is from UK. Either I asked a friend who is coming back to buy OR I will check in Singapore when I go there end this month. Maybe in Singapore already got, they are pretty advance in techs anyway. The casing you were asking to buy bulk, maybe shud check out the ori Nokia casing in Singapore lor... it shud not be more than RM100 even after conversion... hmm.gif

smile.gif Heheh, you bought from Avaxx right? Or isit AP set? If you bought from Avaxx, seemed like you are the first Avaxx set owner who has the 90 days free voice navigation trial! smile.gif What region you have?

Mine is Comsat AP set (happened to get a Singtel set) and I have that 90 days free license for South East Asia Region.
Any AP set owners who has 90 days navigation license for free out there, your free navigation license shud be from which region your AP set comes from.

Hmm after more readings about the UMTS and GSM, I interprete it in a way that the phone will not connect to both network, when in dual mode, the phone will fetch the 3G network as priority, then will switch to GSM when 3G is weak/not available. So in dual mode, the phone should consume more power IF the reception is unstable and constant flipping between both network. So it might be your area has very good reception and stayed on only 1 network most of the time. I could be wrong though but I live up on the hill where phone network often weaker than normal so maybe in dual mode my phone will consume more power to switch between both network constantly. That said, that's just my interpretation... hmm.gif

Anyway I think mine also powerful enough to last, I forgot I actually had the phone fully charged at 3am of thursday night (that is, 3am of friday), then only left 2 bars last midnight (which is around 70 hours), and finally the battery drained off and totally empty this noon 12pm with several photo shots, 10 mins of video playback, as well as 10 mins of WiFi. laugh.gif

Ah! I think that shud be correct interpretation smile.gif Yup, I live and work in areas that falls under 3.5G coverage smile.gif The places I go over the weekend also under this coverage so that shud explain it! nod.gif

@yhuii
Well, it depends.
If you don't fancy or don't care about the extra processing speed, a little bit bigger screen, extra battery juice and the fingerprints magnet black casing... I think getting the old Nokia N95 is good enough. The old N95 is already a good phone IMHO. It's all about preferences actually when you buy N95 8GB. Frankly, if I already buy N95 when it was launched last time, I don't think I will upgrade to N95 8GB. But if you already have the budget to buy N95 8GB now, why not buy it... hehehe. It's newer mah! tongue.gif

@minde
I'm on power saving, it is on when your phone is showing the date etc right? In idle mode right?
When I slide during this mode (usually after few hrs at work since don't play phone during work)... hmm... I don't have that flicker you mentioned. My phone straight to show the standby page with pop up said 'keypad unlocked'. Usually only background/wallpaper pic comes first la then all the icons & standby menu, like 1-2 secs delay.
I've seen the flicker once actually during the 1st week I bought the phone but never happened again... maybe cos the phone still new try to adjust to excessive usage? Hehe... try monitor for a while la... if the flicker continues, get your phone checked, could also be from the slider mechanism. When you slide the phone all the way up, there shud be some function underneath the slider that activate the screen to 'ON', flickering cud mean whatever thing under the slider/front panel didn't touch/connect correctly.

The flickering only happened in the power saver. Try to set the backlight auto off to like 10sec and power saver at 5 sec (which should activated before the light goes off). Mine the screen is flickering as like when you set your computer monitor to very low refresh rate (60hz or lower). I guess that's also part of the power saving as the screen doesn't need too frequent refreshing of the screen. But that's kinda weird, I thought it's something broken when I first got the phone, after update the firmware sitll the same... hmm.gif

Hmm... I still dont get what type of flickering u guys are talking about... hmm.gif You guys have it often? When exactly this happen? I set my power saver time out at 45 secs. The backlights will be off after 5 secs of idle. Maybe I don't see the flickering because my backlight is off first before it starts the power saver mode la hor?
If that is the case I think pigcat explanation cud be right... it flickers because your phone is auto adjusting from high fresh rate to lower, to get ready for the power saver mode and vice versa.

Note:
I tested my phone, I set the backlight of in 5 sec, power saver time also 5 secs. When the lights are going out... the time bar flickered and then off. smile.gif No flickering when I slide open tho. When I slide open, the background comes first, then the 'keypad unlock' message then the icons.

Hide the files (images) by using 3rd party software.

(or you may hide the folder by connecting your phone to the PC, but I don't know whether this works or not. Never tried laugh.gif )
