Wow..Selling it so fast??

Wat modification they done?
*

No modification done, inside only got english, philipine and indonesia language. I don't think they're illegal, IMEI is correct both under the battery, and checked via phone. Firmware is the same as one of the above member N95(68.01). No maps installed, but you can download it via nokia maps website. Great if you don't need chinese, everything worked as it should except GPS, I think I might returning it today and pay extra for the Avaxx one...

Don't get me wrong, AP is OK for anyone under budget, I've been buying original set (Avaxx/Zitron) all the while, but this one the price is really si beh gao so I have no choice but buy a cheaper AP set but hell, I think it's not worth it for me. I just want everything worked straight out of the box.

let's see how. rclxub.gif

UPDATE: OFFER CANCELLED

Just back from Low Yat, with disappointment.

So, anyone wants an AP set virtually brand new, I'm selling. RM2000, cash. Offer only for 1 week or I'll be keeping it cause the price will drop and phone wear and tear then cannot sell. But! Before you commit anything, consider the following of my current AP set:

1. This was purchased brand new at night of 17th/Nov, at RM2300.
2. I've asked about the chinese fonts or something, they say I'll have to wait, so if you want to buy, you'll have to consider this too, you won't have chinese input nor readings at the moment, but most likely in the coming weeks or a month.
3. The GPS. Yeah, GPS. It's NOT working! I suspect this has something to do with the firmware, or worst the hardware. I've yet to confirm this, I'll be sending this to nokia care center to check, if it's hardware problem, I'll have to BITE them until they let me have the Avaxx set and I pay for the difference. (So I can only confirm if I want to sell it by tomorrow, but just want to put an offer here first).
4. I've had them loaded the M'sia map so if you buy directly from me you won't need to download the map again.
5. Manual and CDs are Europe version, other than that there're warranty card by Comsat and original receipt from the shop I bought. All included.
6. And if you really want to have chinese input, there's no stroke symbols on the keypads so if you're fussy about this but still want it, there should be replacement keypads in the future. Even if I keep it I'll also do it once it's available.

Other than all of above, it's basically a really sweet phone. Everything works as it should, damn impressive video shooting, absolutely NO lagging in every aspect except browsing map which need massive processing.

I'm not going to buy an Avaxx set until I sell this one. If you're serious about it, I'll throw in the brand new battery and accessory for you from the Avaxx set that I'm going to buy. Yes, we meet up at low yat, pay money, and I'll buy the Avaxx set right away, and give you all the stuffs sealed. So you only have the handset "used" for short while. I'm extremely careful with the handset so guarantee no spills and knocking. Of course, you cannot avoid fingerprints... blush.gif

So that's it, basically anything about it I can tell you honestly. No bullshits, interested please send an email to (Offer cancelled), will be checked frequently.

Sigh...No more AP for me in the future. shakehead.gif

PS: The shop I purchased have quite good communication and service, FYI.

EDIT: Email address to prevent automated spam

EDIT 2: I think I'll keep it, sorry for the long retarded post, but anyone wants to consider an AP set, you can refer to this first before you commit. AP is like gambling, so think about it...Still, I highly recommend you to get a Avaxx/Zitron handset.

Sorry for my previous retarded post, offer cancelled...

Nevermind, just got the phone working...GPS seems to worked most of the time now. However, does it work very fast everytime? Mine seems to be sluggish catching the satellite sometimes, but seems to work quite accurate now...

Anyone?

Usually it depends on how clear the sky is at the locating time...but usually it takes around 1-2 minutes to lock...

Thanks for the info!

I start to feel that my phone is weird, just now I tried even in my room/house, I was able to lock my position within 10 secs, soooooo strange. I didn't quite get it the whole day until my gf tested it in the evening (I think it got attracted to female?). Anyway, lame thing aside, I forgot to mention that the dealer willing to help me to get nokia people to install the original software for me since my easy access not working and no chinese input/viewing/dictionary. Of course I'll have to pay but I'm more than willing to (should be cheap, just software only), I might want to request them to change the keypad as well and pay for the extra ause I might as well convert the thing into original handset like Avaxx or Zitron since it's close to original now.

Feel MUCH better now... biggrin.gif

i think GPS works better if u r out in the open rather than hiding in a room. after all it need to detect the satellite signal which is not the same as phone network signal.
*

Yes of course I understand how GPS worked, that's why I tested outdoor open air, nothing on top of me except sunlight. But still, takes forever to lock until my gf used it this evening...

And now, it'll lock fast even at indoor. Also I find when you don't use the GPS for a while and want to lock again, usual it'll take longer to lock on. Once first lock on success, then it can be lock on again after a while you don't use.

Now just left the original software and keypad and I'm done, RM2400 (roughly) for original set but virtually no warranty... laugh.gif

well then i guess ur phone needs a woman touch to kick start the GPS hehehe
*

Yeah maybe lol...

Now there's another question came to mind just now, if anyone of you did the firmware flashing (e.g. AP set flashed to original software), will the firmware updater work? Or put it in another way, if want to do self firmware update, will the updater check the IMEI or region or something? I highly doubt it'll check IMEI cause I just tested and it saiz there's no new firmware for my phone, I hope it means I can update just no new firmware...

Can't wait for tomorrow's firmware flashing, hope they have extra keypads in stock or I'll have to ask them to get some...

I'll report back, and hope it'll help anyone like me who want an AP set with original look/firmware...

Wish me luck... biggrin.gif

Thanks for the info Lonely San! Don't dare to do it myself cause no cable no software, but I do have the firmware downloaded off some chinese website...By the way Lonely San, which cable you use to flash your phone? I'm not sure if the USB cable can do it, I've heard from China guys they all said can do on the N95-1 and there's already few people success on the new 8GB version. Anyway just curious nia... blush.gif

Ok, one last question and hope original N95 8GB handset owner can answer me. I've owned several nokia handsets since 3310 and every handset has the chinese stroke symbols. However the AP set I have doesn't have, just wondering if the original handset has as usual? Cause I'll be heading to Nokia Care center tomorrow and before I waste money (and time), just check and see if changing the keypad is necessary...

Oh and one more thing to report, since the USB cable/port is USB2 (correct me if I'm wrong), I absolutely don't fee like using a high speed connection at all. Transfering is still below average (at least, below expectation/similar to my E70 if I remembered correctly). Nevertheless, even if it was N95-1 I'll also lazy to take out the card just to do high speed transfer...So N95 8GB is absolutely a big plus cause I don't need to buy extra card and carry around and scare loosing it... brows.gif

Still testing, now only used up 1st charge, just did 2nd charge last night. (I didn't do the overnight charging, I let

However, 1st charge lasted for 24 hours despite I made calls for like 10mins, use bluetooth for like 10mins, SMSes, about few shots of photos, 5 mins of video shooting, plus I tested the GPS for like an hour or so in total...

I think it's awesome... biggrin.gif

Reventon - The dealer said he'll help me to get Nokia people to install original softwares, with a fee of course. I'm waiting for the call from the dealer or I'll be calling in the afternoon anyway. Should be under RM100 (hopefully)...No chinese input I beh tahan... shakehead.gif

Another question here, I just got a reply from the Nokia Malaysia (email them first and see if I can send the phone to service without going through the AP supplier). They say Nokia Care Centre only accept authorized phone for services, I did mentioned about the paid services but the rep doesn't seems to aware of it and of course decline my request.

I replied him and state clearly that I'm willing to pay for the future services and repairs, and see how it goes.

By the way, anyone of you have experiences with AP set need to repair say keypad/LCD/Camera lense etc? Do you send to Nokia service get pay them or you just bring to your AP supplier?

If your in a budget, get AVAXX.

AP warrenty does not cover any of the parts you stated besides the LCD. Just bring it to the Nokia Care Center, but your going to have to pay for the charges, e.g Changing a Nokia N93 camera will cost you RM400-Rm450..
*
Yeah I definitely expecting to pay, cause I don't trust any other service center, original parts always better. Even original handset if got damage cause by pilot error also have to pay ma. nod.gif

Mind sharing whether yours are AP or authorized?

Just wanted to share that when I got the handset upon activation the battery is only 3 bars and won't last long (good sign to show that it's a brand new battery). 2nd charge from last night finished charge about 12:30am, until now still full bar despite I try the GPS again for like 10 mins and made calls I think around 5 mins, and made a few photo shots.

Do you guys still do the so-called 14hours (overnight) charge or just charge accordingly without overcharge it?

Can any of you guide me how to install mapking2007. Install already but i don't know how to install the map.

One U selling N95 8G for Rm3099 + bluetooth and car charger.
*

That's kinda sweet deal. Just an advice, don't buy from shops in Sg Wang yet, all around RM3500 (they'll give you car charger and bluetooth handsfree as well), even a few shops in Lowyat also ask for RM3400. Ask around, pay no more than the retail price revealed during the official launch (I saw the blog somewhere) which is RM2999.

I think average price for N95 8GB without registering operator is around RM2800~RM2850.

lol there you go, the official claimed talk time only 6 hours, so if you do 2~3 hours it's pretty normal that the battery can only last for a day.

I think if N95-1 I don't think you can even last for 24 hours...

My handset's slide seems to be noticably wobbling when it's in the middle position, and very slightly when in the upper position. However it's quite solid when slided to lower position (multimedia button). Is this common or was it just me?

Yup just download from the nokia maps. for your information you can go to www.ovi.com all the links are all there.

To install maps you need to download the map loader pc software, then connect your phone as data transfer. Then you can use the map loader to download maps but very large...
