Yeah unless u have the 3rd party application to hide images folder, u will always see it in gallery. Kinda sucks eh?
Hmm.. but dont think u can do the hide thingy via pc cos the memory is flash memory? I never cut the files and move to another folder within the 8GB, if I do that my pc suite hangs... is it because it's a flash memory?

any program to recommend ?

Those who is using garmin or any other software that has image files . Heres a way to hide them . Best if you do it through computer .

Some programs (TomTom for example) have image files as part of their installation. The N95 indexes all folders and shows the images in the gallery so you can end up with annoying thumbnails/icons/bits of map etc in your gallery.
You may also want to keep some 'private' content out of the gallery so nosey friends don't see them. Here is a guide of how to do it:

1) Download Y-Browser. This is a free file manager which is very small but incredibly useful.
2) Install it and then run it.
3) Navigate to wherever the image/video files are. You may need to dig around if the images are from an application but there is a search function so that may help.
4) For each file, highlight it and press the left selection key (LSK from here on). Go to File > Attributes and change 'Hidden' to Yes. Click the LSK again to save the change.
5) Repeat that for each file you want to hide.
6) There will be a folder called _PAlbTN in the same path as the image. Delete it.
7) That's it. You can now only view those hidden files through Y-Browser or by hooking the phone up to your PC.

NOTE: The _PAlbTN folder contains 3 different sized copies of the image and is created by, and for, the gallery app when it indexes your phone. There will be one _PAlbTN subfolder in every folder in which a picture or video exists. If you delete it the gallery will rebuild it next time it runs from all (visible) images and videos in that folder. That means even if you only want to hide some images in a given location it is still perfectly safe, and much quicker to delete the whole _PAlbTN.

I have TomTom and a few private files so found this incredibly helpful. It is peace of mind when you come back from the loo and your mates are playing with your new phone!

and anyone know how to get message file? because my previous phone i can use Fexplore to browse message folder to get the file and send to other phone using bluetooth.
this tme i failed to install Fexplorer so i tried y browser, but after searching for sometime i can't find the message folder.
then i try X-plorer, also cannnot find the folder, but under option > tools > messaging it show all the message file. and i saw the path E:\Private\.......... anyone know why i can't see E:\private when i'm not using option > tools > messaging? thanks

the private folder is hidden. visible if u browse the card with "view hidden file" or something close to that (varies with each file browser). it's visible on pc too

Hmmm... dun think so they'll give discount lei... the truth is, no point buying voice license for Malaysia with that kind of lousy maps we have. I think malaysia maps will not be that updated, disregard what navigation software you use.

Some useful information for anyone of you want to change spare parts. I've phoned the NCC HQ at the Berjaya Plaza (the 13th floor one, not the 1st floor NCC). They said they didn't order spare parts at the moment cause the spare part price will be going down so they're waiting to get a new price list for the spare parts in a week or 2 then only order them.

HolyCross how's your phone? Did you manage to have it repaired? I wonder how much they charge for the spare parts? I can imagine it'll be expensive at the moment right?

nop i din , i acidently activated it... starting i plan only activated it next years but 2 days back i acidently press it... nvm den , but i found tat nokia map is quite outdated... i go my fren house but GPS show i m in the jungle... sometime in the sea ....

If you go to Singapore and get, their authorised set is called LOCAL SET. The equivalent of AP set in Singapore is IMPORT SET, and like AP set in Malaysia, it is usually cheaper than the authorised set. Like Malaysia AP set, their IMPORT SET could come from Europe, India, Filipines, Indonesia ALSO Malaysia.

So a Zitron set in Malaysia is an AP set/IMPORT SET in Singapore. I think currently in Singapore, Nokia N95 8GB is about SGD980 for IMPORT set. The local set/authorised set should be around SGD1000+. Go check it out here: http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/priceguide/...id=100&id=19261

But please note that you can't really make sure from which country it was brought from. It could be from Malaysia or Indonesia or Europe (same case like Malaysia AP set, cant really be sure from where unless you check the product code lor)



This is the Nokia casing for N95 8GB I told you about mah. It's already in Singapore, at Suntec Nokia Store selling at SGD28. As usual, they get it earlier than us, haha.

EDITED: Just checked, Nokia Tampines is selling this case at SGD18 only. can't wait to go Singapore end this mth!!
