Dozz, i just checked my statement and called AMEX, i did get 2x reward points for last month statement smile.gif  Also i just called AMEX to enrol in Turbo Reward Points which cost me RM50, with Turbo Reward, we get 3X reward points.

The customer service guy told me that the Turbo Reward Points will expire once I reach 200,000 points.

Looks like i be using my AMEX more often now instead of just using it at Mobil/Esso.
*
wow... thats mean the new Turbo Reward Points no actual expire date but only capped on 200,000 points... thats not too bad at all smile.gif

Current 2x MR points didnt stated when is the expire date... probably it will be forever 2x?

Nope. MBB Amex credit card only has 2x TP forever. No need pay RM20/50 every year to join the 2x/3x programme.

Was browsing thru MBB Amex website and saw that 6 months interest free installments extended to March 2009. Previously it was like for 3 months installments.

http://www.maybank2u.com.my/promotions/ame...408/index.shtml

This offer is really great as it is the only true 0% installment scheme as there is no handling or surcharge like UOB or CIMB. On top of that can get2X reward points (or 3x if got turbo).

This promotion must be overwhelming, that why they keep extended it. I wish to buy myself a laptop soon, probably can consider this instalment plan smile.gif

I always hear people say above. I have no problems using my Amex, it can be used at all Dept Stores/Hypermarket, Petrol Stations, Hotels, Restaurants, branded clothing stores, electronic/electrical stores and most shops at 1U/Midvalley and even at night spots. Years ago, when i was studying in US, i even bought my car using Amex! Even Dell accept Amex FYI. And if the shop don't accept Amex, you got CC what.

Seriously with 2X reward points and earning points for pumping petrol, AMEX is the way to go if you do not need credit facility i.e. credit card.

If you go compare reward points for redemption, Amex is the best. Only 2 months ago redeem RM340 food vouchers, going to redeem another RM300 Dome and TGIF vouchers next week smile.gif

Since the 2x reward points was extended (i have subsequently enroll for turbo), i have been using Amex for almost all my transactions; and i have UOB, HLB, HSBC, Alliance & DA platinum CC and 2 normal CC which is just taking up space in my wallet so i leave a few in my drawer. Amex is the only card i can't leave home without smile.gif

I have a few questions about AMEX Charge Card and AMEX Platinum Credit Card.

1. If i have no intention to convert my "membership rewards points" to frequent flyer miles, does it mean i do not have to enroll in the frequent traveler option, which has an annual fee of RM50 inclusive of non-frequent traveler option ?

2. Does it mean no "membership rewards points" for me if i did not enroll in the non-frequent traveler option which cost RM25/pa ?

3. Can the annual fee of the AMEX Platinum Credit Card be waived ? I know you guys have said it cannot be waived but in other countries, the annual fee of AMEX Platinum CREDIT CARD actually can be waived. Only the AMEX Platinum CHARGE CARD can't.

Thanks. Appreciate it !

bro =) if this is ur first usage on the card for RM120K , chances are your transaction might get refered.although no preset spending limit but charges are approved based on your spending pattern. best call maybank prior to your large purchase

.

1. Yes. basically if you dont wish to transfer points to partner frequent flyer, just opt for the non frequent traveler option.
2. Yes. No enrollment= no points =) its only rm25 p/a and points are evergreen
3. Due to the outweight benefits , all AMEX platinum cards are fee paying cards regardless of credit or charge =)

What makes AMEX special are the wide arrange of benefits & recognition whenever you go,attractive rewards and a world class service to all card holders biggrin.gif
Would your card provider call you up to ask if you are okay or in need of assistance in the event of natural disaster struck the country that you're visiting?
Would your other card provider go to the extend of charting a helicopter/flight to rescue/transport card holders that was stranded in a foreign country due to political turmoil/nautral disaster?

Well AMEX does ..how i know? i did the calls ocassionally lol brows.gif
