Anyway, looking at AMEX catalogue, the point is very high for redemption, most of them are 50K+, the only I can redeem is voucher or cash rebate sad.gif
Actually the cash rebate is already competitive enough smile.gif

May I know how long you've been using MBB Amex CC? So far only receive statement once right?
I believe you just got your Amex CC not more than 1 month right?
*
Started using it early 4th August. So far I've received 2 statements, for 6th August and 6th September

What's the AMEX Gold Credit Card charges for overseas transaction? I can't find the exact charges. It was mentioned in Credit Card thread that it's 2.5% but it's not in their website.

It is stated in the charge/credit card statement.

I see. so far they never deduct RM5 from your banking or CC account right?
I'm thinking should I check with CS regarding this matter, or just ignore this and receive paper statements for free...

Alamak, I didn't know bout RM5 charges (per year or month?) if receive paper statement. I remember telling them that I don't want paper statement coz can view easily at M2U.

I would like to ask, what is the meaning of 0% finance charges till end of year? Does that mean if I just pay minimum, they will not charges anything else for this year? My current minimum payment is RM25.

The maximum credit line for each Platinum series credit card brand is RM300,000. For instance you have a Platinum VISA and Mastercard Platinum, both issued by Hong Leong Bank. The maximum credit line possible is RM300,000 per card brand. Assume that Hong Leong Bank gives you the maximum credit line possible for your both Platinum VISA and Mastercard, your total combined limit from Hong Leong Bank for your credit cards is RM600,000.

I should share my understanding on CL. biggrin.gif

1. The max CL for a Plat cc issued in Malaysia is not RM300k. In fact, it is much higher than that. I know Citibank can give a CL of up to RM450k for a Plat cc, be it a VISA or MC.

2. CL is shared among cards, and allocated on individual basis. If you have a Plat VISA with a CL of RM300k and you apply for an additional Plat MC from the same bank, your combined CL will still be RM300k upon approval. Some banks may increase you CL if you apply for more cards from the same banks, but the combined CL could not be 2x times higher than the original CL if the original CL is already at a skyrocketing level.

Oh ... Citibank issue both VISA Platinum and Platinum Mastercard to the customer ? I think i should ask the HSBC staff if i pledge my RM1 million of time deposit to get a secured VISA Platinum from them, will i be given RM800,000 of credit line for the VISA Platinum ... Hehehe ... Oh by the way, no. I do not have RM1 million of time deposit. I mean just try to ask only to find out if there really is no maximum credit limit imposed on each card brand laugh.gif

Actually i have a HSBC VISA and HSBC Mastercard. Both cards are given single credit limit. I was told they couldn't combine the credit line of these two cards. Basically both cards are of the same status smile.gif

The rate is based on AMEX own exchange rate, not Maybank's.

Actually HSBC Classic VISA/Mastercard, Gold VISA/Mastercard, Gold Mastercard/VISA Platinum (HSBC doesn't offer Platinum Mastercard) will all have a combined credit limit. My case is just a bit different laugh.gif

Credit card comes with a credit line and you cannot spend beyond the credit line given. Charge card on the other hand, doesn't come with a credit line. They will approve your purchase based on your past spending pattern. If you intend to make a huge purchase and the amount is very high, it is advisable that you call them first just to make sure the payment will go smoothly.

Kena along fees lo.

BTW I love AMEX Gold Credit Card. 0% retail interest until 31/12/2009 and points are going up super fast. Beats Citibank credit card anytime.

Citibank has both Plat MC and Plat VISA. If you hold both CCs, the CL si COMBINED.

The CL I mentioned (RM450k) is the CL given to a person based on his/her financial qualification and eligibility, NOT his/her pledged FD or whatever deposits in the respective bank.

Is the said person have both VISA and Mastercard from Citibank ? If he/she has both VISA and Mastercard from Citibank then i guess this is why his/her combined credit limit can be as high as RM450k. It is mentioned in certain banks websites that the credit line can be up to RM300k per Platinum card. If i'm not mistaken, i saw it in Hong Leong Bank and Standard Chartered Bank websites.

By pledging FD i guess we can find out just how far the credit line for each Platinum can go smile.gif

No. For Citibank Malaysia, the highest CL that could be given to an individual is RM450k, REGARDLESS of whether the person is holding EITHER 1 MC or VISA, or both; and whether the person has deposit with the bank. smile.gif
