@vin_ann,
Nope! By the time I was done with home quarantine, I'd oredi lapse the date to make the collection from the post office. Am not sure where my card is now and I haven't heard from Amex either. Maybe I should pick up the phone and contact Amex and harass them for the card? tongue.gif

MBB blemishes Amex's reputation. I've been away for a few days. I thought I could receive some breezy news from MBB, but MBB never ever called me pertaining to my Amex gold cc application which was submitted on 3rd Aug. I called MBB just now and was informed that my application is still in process state.  shocking.gif

At least it is already in process state, i.e. they received your forms.

Otherwise, they say submission not in system or form not received, I think you'll fall off the chair doh.gif sweat.gif

I've called a CS representative at AMEX 03-22958877 to enquire about signing up as a graduate (RM30k pa requirement). The fella say i can email them (instead of fax since fax can be blur) the relevant documents and he'll submit the application for me. He gave me his personal maybank email. Doing thru this way is pretty safe right? Or should i just fax instead?

They normally will send you a notice informing you to collect the card right ? Probably Poslaju is at fault here sweat.gif

Yes. vin_ann chose to collect his AMEX at his chosen Maybank branch.

Hi,

Just an update. I called Amex to ask about me Gold CC. They're apparently having my CC and I've asked them to resend it back to Maybankard Centre @ 1U for me to pick up. Also, the CS actually asked if I put in a request to cancel my Amex Plat CC *gulp*; I told him I didn't but I did put in a request for waiver of AF *grins* I wonder what's being reflected in my Account *grins*

Also, someone was asking about making calls back to Amex from overseas, right?! Or was that at the CC thread. Amex apparently has a new number for customers to call when they're overseas [I didn't take the number down in time!] and they will accept collect calls *smiles*

So which should I go for? American Express Gold CC or the Maybank version (how come it is not free)? And why?

Thanks.

Thanks.

From the picture on Maybank's website, there don't seems to be any Maybank logo on the AMEX card. Is that right?

It mentioned payment of Maxis by Express Autopay qualifies for 5 x membership rewards. Does Auto Debit also qualifies for 5 x rewards?

And if I have a non-MBB AMEX Gold CC and I make payment by cheque at MBB branch, are there any additional out-station cheque charges?

I'd say American Express Gold credit card. NO DOUBT ! tongue.gif

There is one free Maybank AMEX, called Maybank Ikhwan. It is an Islamic AMEX.

QUOTE(arsenal @ Aug 29 2009, 04:15 PM)
Arsenal, that is not a Maybank AMEX lah. That is a 100% AMEX. There are only two Maybank AMEX, one is Maybankard AMEX and another one Maybank Ikhwan AMEX. Both with Maybank logo printed on top.

Yes. Because that is 100% AMEX. Just like those charge cards and the white color AMEX Platinum credit card.

I believe the 5x MR only apply to AMEX Gold credit card, the one without any ugly Maybank logo. And you need to enroll in auto debit to qualify for the 5x MR. But as some users have mentioned, there is something wrong with the Maxis system and they can't register your AMEX for the auto debit for the time being.

The cheque should be made payable to Maybankard centre. So if your cheque is issued by some banks in KL and you pay it in KL, there shouldn't be any additional charges.

@Optiplex330,
Yes I believe there'll be extra charges for outstation cheques. The other option is to open a Maybank account; subscribe to Maybank2U and pay your CC charges via M2U. It's hassle free & most convenient, IMO smile.gif

Also, go for the Amex Gold CC *smiles* That one gives pretty good benefits; in fact I told the CS the benefit on that card outweighs the Amex Platinum CC and the latter's annual fee is a whopping RM800 !

1. With the CTCS rollout, only newly designed cheques will be accepted from 1st Sept 09 onwards. Besides, local and outstation cheques will be cleared on the same day and fund will be deposited within 2 working days. There will be no commission fee for outstation cheques.

2. Following the introduction to Amex Gold cc which is free for life, Amex Plat cc apparently has nothing to shout about. I don't find any rationale of paying RM800 AF but getting less benefit than the Gold cc. biggrin.gif
