QUOTE(soonwai @ Sep 4 2024, 12:48 AM) Here's a porn site: www.porno hammer.com (remove space, don't click, for research purposes only) i still can access without problem• that is blocked by the legit Cleanbrowsing-Adult (185.228.168.11) • but enabled by TM's hijacked Cleanbrowsing-Adult (185.228.168.10). So if you're using Cleanbrowsing-adult, TM just gave your kids a free porn site. *Now to explain to my wife why I'm browsing porn sites in the middle of the night. |

QUOTE(BladeRider88 @ Sep 4 2024, 09:58 AM) It will be implemented on all ISP in Malaysia eventually. Yeah for Unifi it is looking more and more like they are testing in stages before rolling out to everyone. Last time they did short tests late at night and right now they are doing random regions as samples. Maxis, TM Unifi & Time already started action (according to my circle of friends) Because they didn't just target the naked DNS like Maxis and TIME, but also want to block DoT and DoH, there is slightly more upkeep for them. So they are probably checking to see how effective it is and maybe expose how people choose to bypass it. |

Since attempts to hijack DNS are occurring (I have just suffered from it this early morning), causing problems in resolving DNS queries properly, I suggest setting the DNS-to-TLS profile to opportunistic mode for the time being to avoid Internet connection issues. ![]() This post has been edited by eclectice: Sep 4 2024, 12:31 PM solarmystic and BladeRider88 liked this post

Last time they did short tests late at night and right now they are doing random regions as samples. Yup. True about that. Because they didn't just target the naked DNS like Maxis and TIME, but also want to block DoT and DoH, there is slightly more upkeep for them. So they are probably checking to see how effective it is and maybe expose how people choose to bypass it. TM Unifi has more things to setup in order bypass compared to Maxis & Time. In my experience, Time & Maxis has better response time with CF DNS while Time Unifi seems to favor Google DNS. Of course I do have other DNS as backup. See how this 3 Big ISP gonna roll out in the near future. We do whatever we can do to protect our best interest. |

I've seen people mentioning NextDNS and saw some radical solutions involving pihole, but haven't seen anyone mentioning about Technitium DNS and their DNS forwarding.
Assuming we use DoH / DoT protocol for the DNS forwarding, it should work as intended right (i.e. bypass the DNS Hijack/poisoning)? This post has been edited by latios507: Sep 4 2024, 01:58 PM |

QUOTE(ntw @ Sep 4 2024, 04:03 AM) Thanks! Configured dnscrypt-proxy to use dnscrypt and doh servers. TM's server doesn't appear in the list If the simplest solution where I just replace 8888 with another #### DNS in my router/PC/devices stops working.I'm thinking of using dnscrypt-proxy. Is it difficult to set up? |
