BTW. If I cancel my unifi from apps. Will I get call from TM for any SWU or better offer? Thanks.
*
May or may not. You just want a better offer right? I don't think you should cancel because if the ports in your area are full and there are other people in line to get it, when you cancel, it will be given to those who have been waiting.

What you should do is either visit a TM Point to ask for a SWU offer if you're willing to recontract or trigger a port out to another provider like Maxis.

Hi guys,

Been reading here regarding free speed upgrade to all Unifi users as announced by the Gov last year.

I was upgraded yesterday from 800 to 1000mbps. Hardware provided by TM is Dlink AX3000 Model DPN-FX3060V Combo. Download speed tested almost touching 1000mbps not all the time but definitely above 900mbps everytime. Upload slightly above 500mbps all the time. I asked the techcian to configure all the four ports for LAN as I dont use IPTV & VOIP. No increase in monthly fees & free for 6 months. My package is ONLY for Internet & I pay less. Using for surfing net, YT, Whatsap etc. Importantly I used for playing online games with my Xbox Series X. Playing at the moment 2 MMO games & paying a monthly subscription for them.
Btw anyone know how to configure the Dlink Combo supplied by TM for Port Forwarding to my Xbox Series X console? Tyvm in advance for any help smile.gif  I was abled to configure my previously used tp link A73 router to Port Forward for my Xbox Series X smile.gif

The old Huawei modem + tplinkAX73 Router (bought myself) dismantled & I kept both of them.

Thank you very much.

tp link A73 router to can do Port Forward no problem
TM is Dlink AX3000 Model DPN-FX3060V Combo = cannot do port forward and cannot change dns poor spec and blocking not allowed port forward
you you need set bridge mode DPN-FX3060V Combo then connect tp link ax73

I had to Live Chat regarding the high ping to Riot Games' Valorant SG servers. The CS asked me to telnet the server IP address and provide screenshot to them, erm? sweat.gif

That's the problem of gamer vs ISP in general.

ISP only care about IP address and AS.
Gamer talk about geographic location.

Until you can provide a traceroute to the game server, reporting is just a waste of everyone time. They 100% close your report.

But since you mention Singapore, I guess it's TM-Equinix again. Well known peering that's congested all the time.

I corrected him and asked whether he meant a tracert instead of a telnet. sweat.gif

Yes, should be the TM-Equinix link. The developer's network engineer commented:

QUOTE
For Valorant, they're using the AWS global accelerator, which is announced under AS16509 (i.e: NOT distinguisable from regular AWS/Amazon traffic).

Unfortunately, given that the bulk of the problem is on the inbound path, and since BGP cannot operate at a port level, we will probably require the following:

Increased preferences via peering at Equinix / SGIX Singapore to Amazon when being exported by your IIG. This will force Amazon to shun your ITC peers and send traffic directly via the IXP.

You cancel it, you lose SWU and all the offer.
I don't know what's your problem. You have been asking the same question many times, other member told you to visit TM Point but you disappeared.
After a while you continue to ask the same question and instead of going to TM Point and do the correct thing, you went and cancel it.

Getting SWU is a battle tested method, you need to work on your execution / action plan.

AS16509 definitely use TM-Equinix, even if the traffic is meant for AWS Malaysia.
The problem with the developer suggestion is that they don't apply if the link is congested.
TM really need send more traffic to MyIX and save TM-Equinix for traffic that really needs it.
Or they add additional port for Equinix.

TM is doing limitation on all routes no matter using Equinix or any others peering point or He.net(backbone) or any others backbone will be same.

TM has 200G x1 and100G peering with Equinix is sufficient enough if they really utilize well.

ever wonder why night time MYIX and HKIX peering also having same congestion issue as well.

From observation, I suspect that as well but I cannot proof it.
I think they are trying to save bandwidth cost by gaming the 95 percentile calculation.

So there's nothing much a customer can do except to just keep submitting a report until someone in TM notices the same complaints over and over again?

They are doing it since Covid time until now. i do agree they using percentile calculation.

On another side TM also selling egress bandwidth to Umobile, Digi Alicloud and some others provider as well but i wonder why they dont have such congestion issue happen base on ping result at peak hours compare to Unifi users.

I assure you TM is definitely aware of it. They are doing it for cost reason.

I don't think they egress via TM for these route. Need to perform traceroute to be certain.
Or they bill them a slightly higher 95th percentile so TM profit from it. After all TM do provide IP Transit.

Definitely not Equinix or MYIX peering, is their others major backbone route.

i tried to digi, umobile and alicloud ip for checking for egress route and proven some of them using TM egress

TM absolutely refuses to peer with anyone at MyIX unless if they have a local company presence, such as Quad9 KUL hosted by PCH, or even Quad9 KUL hosted by Global Transit Communications (TIME) doesn't get used

TM would rather send EVERYTHING to SG

I assume the same is happening with Amazon

Then TM is definitely profiting by billing them a higher 95th percentile and prioritizing their customer.

But Amazon is registered here under Amazon Services Sdn Bhd. They even bill customer under this and collect Madani tax.
I really cannot understand the logic with this.

Go to a TM Point, tell them what Maxis can offer you and they can probably match it. I'm thinking something like a RM119 for 300mbps and maybe 3 or 6 months free. Good luck in your nego with TM.
