copy everything from the bluray into a folder... not a iso ...
why make iso .. when you can copy the whole bluray.... .. yeah i also suspect there might be problem running from nas with bluray.. you need very high throughput for this bluray files... 10 for wire i don't think can .. bluray i think need at least 25 QUOTE(geforce1999 @ Mar 3 2009, 01:36 PM) sorry adnyz, when you meant BD rip did you mean copy the whole folder over? or BD rip = BD iso? Have you tried BD ISO? Just want to know more before puchasing it... QUOTE(andyz @ Mar 3 2009, 01:43 PM) copy everything from the bluray into a folder... not a iso ... bro, what do you mean why make ISO?why make iso .. when you can copy the whole bluray.... ISO is the original BD disc image (every thing including the copy protection is inside), BDMV+certificate is not 100% the BD image.. it's derived from the BD image..some data which may or may not affect movie playback depending on player/software is missing. |

Just want to know more before puchasing it... Thanks in advance for the answers. so far only PC using image mounting tools like daemon tools + paid software like Powerdvd, and one other standalone HDD+BD drive player can play BD ISO directly.. I suspect the ability to do this need to pay BD royalty so these DVICO/NMT/ all can't do it with official firmware.... (maybe alpha release or limited 100times demo mode)Added on March 3, 2009, 2:04 pm QUOTE(andyz @ Mar 3 2009, 01:59 PM) yes. my backed up BDs many in ISO format (you get every thing, menus, BDJ).. unless some weird reason why it can't play properly in Powerdvd then just extract to BDMV folder and use the largest M2TS file to playback via MPC-HC (no BDJ, no Menus)This post has been edited by ar188: Mar 3 2009, 02:04 PM |

yes, 6500a support gigabit connection....but my pc is old and neither is my router gigabit.....read somewhere the gigabit function on the 6500a might not be very fast at all. i tried streaming thru the 10/100 and yep, it lags. for the time being I am ftp-ing the files to the internal HDD.
am still waiting for the right time to get the qnap...then we'll see how well it streams bd files via gigabit network. |

(inside got 2more folders BDMV and certificate). anydvd will rip to this way or one single BD ISO way (2 options).but the minute i click on 2001 space odyssey folder .. it immediately plays... |

QUOTE(geforce1999 @ Mar 3 2009, 02:46 PM) if I'm not mistaken some stuff is already embedded into the M2TS file.. so maybe audio tracks can be changed (depending on player) if you click the MT2S file. for subs I'm not sure..other stuff like main Menu, pop up menu, extras obviously have to play the entire folder instead of just selecting the single large M2TS file in stream folder coz it's the other smaller files inside the folder that make the menu.. |
