Damn, I like,

Official Firmware: alpha version (99.3.85)
This version fixes many bugs and compatibility problems and above all can read iso blu-ray. rclxms.gif
You must copy the entire tree of blu-ray (decrypt, dézoné) and start playing alone.

but at last my pc does not have bluray player to copy and decrypt into the 6500a, looks like have to download ...

Alpha firmware is usually still buggy, meant for the testers and brave adventurers. Wait for a stable beta. Or better yet, the official release.

And shame on you rx330 for urging this reckless step!! (lol)

Added on January 19, 2009, 6:28 pmI am still on fw 1.3.15 for my 4100sh. Is the 1.4.52 official fw any good? Supposedly it can read embedded subtitles in mkv files, and is faster and more stable. Any truth in that?

Well, I don't usually upgrade unless there is a compelling reason. You know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

so every 1TB HDD can house approx 20 dbl-layer BD......so for some of the fellas here....would need abt 10x1TB HDD....

hang on....one wouldnt throw the BD away after ripping them, right? hehe

confirmed 1TB can store around 25-30 (some movies are between 25-43GB).. .. biggrin.gif

6 x 1.5TB (say RM500 each) is still cheap.. compared to 200 physical BDs (paying over 10k) like some here are collecting..

use servers to serve videos thats the way Im looking at now... changing discs are very laborious not to mention inconvienient and cant do multi room video on demand..

Cost-effectiveness would be the keyword, right?

I would rather have softcopy than the BD itself. As ar188 mentioned, can save all the hassle
