Oh didn't know that lol

For ZTE maybe get the euro set mc810A from sing4g la kot. Previously bought in 2020, huawei b818 euro set from them and runs great till today
How is the wifi range in your house? Like huawei b818, the wifi range gila limited

i still recommend ppl get the tplink x50-5g due to official warranty.

don't care about the wifi of the 5G CPE…place your 5G CPE near the window with best signal reception, connect lan cable to another good wifi coverage router for example ax73 and use it as access point. turn off the wifi of 5G CPE could further reduce heat generated (especially for those without fan built-in).

I already had a few deco units in my place.
I just integrated this into my existing network.
Remove the time modem, set x50 up and was done.
I get good speeds all around.
Anything above previous 100 is already good for me thumbup.gif

I had m9s setup in my place.
Added the x50, made it the main deco and change the mode to connect using sim.
Was done easily.

x50-5g is using tplink own deco mesh

nx510v is using easymesh
chipset wise, no review or teardown of nx510v so don't know what's the 5g chipset used. but since it mentioned support carrier aggregate so i think it must be newer than x55 chipset so probably using same x62.

the spec looks like customized for telco set but maybe no telco wants it then tplink just sell as consumer product.

Thanks. Thinking of making the jump to 5G but I don't like the current design of most modems - cylindrical lol. This a bit more squarish and to my liking. Also a bit cheaper than X50.

x50-5g got 3 years official warranty and using tplink own deco mesh…if want to use tplink ecosystem mesh network, reconsider it.

But, 5g promise improvement over ping, but for SA likely
Gaming depends on upload efficiency, not download
So ping is upload related instead of download

My LTE ping is 20-22
My 5G ping is 17-19

Afaik, the important thing to remember about ping or latency is the location of the server Malaysians need to connect to during their online activity, especially in online gaming, not whether their Internet is Fiber, 5G or 4G LTE.
....... No doubt, by itself, Fiber > 5G > 4G LTE wrt ping, ie wired Fiber Internet is faster than wireless/mobile 5G/4G Internet.

Eg those Malaysians who play online Made-in-China games will always get high ping of >100ms whether on Fiber, 5G or 4G LTE, because the game servers are located faraway in China. IOW, it takes much longer for data packets from China to reach Malaysia.
....... If the online game server is located in Singapore, then Malaysians will always get low ping of about 50ms for Fiber, 5G or 4G LTE Internet.

Wait about 1 year, the price of 5G devices will drop down to earth, ie will drop by at least half-price, ... but Starlink and Tesla prices will still remain in the stratosphere. biggrin.gif

Difference between Deco X50-5G and NX510V is mainly on user experience. For some reasons, TP-Link always maintain 2 product lineup for their networking gear.

Deco lineup is more app centric, simpler with less configurations exposed to users. IMO, the user experience is actually pretty decent these days

The NX510V is from their router lineup so it has a relied on the web interface for config. It has a ton of settings exposed to the users and it has VoLTE as well.

Ping lower then 50 is ok. Worse TM route you 19hops. HK and China ping about 48. I game better with LTE then my fiber line. Maxis LTE. Second thing is the server. Most of the time Singapore server is worse then HK.

Eg for Genshin Impact, a Made-in-China online game, .......

Share your ping and connectivity info, that's going to help

Hey guys!

I'm working at a famous big comp and lately there was this discussion in my work team about working with Hoyo's servers and CDNs to improve ping rates to EU and American server. (We'll be starting with South Africa, then EU and America afterwards).

In short, they pay for renting more physical "points" across the world that will make you connect to a closer, physical server (an endpoint) since sooo many people are reporting bad pings. While bad is basically considered >160ms for a non-PVP game like genshin.

I'd love it if you share your average ping and which server and country (or the area if you feel uncomfy about that) you are from. [EU/NA/Asia]

For many people rocking a great <70ms (always green signal bars) they won't even know the term lag.

On the other side, those with more than 200ms will have a bad experience, meaning the gameplay will become a little unfairly unresponsive (even though it's not competitive).

But most importantly I'd like your input about how would you rate your experience like.. out of a scale of 10, in terms of connectivity and fluidity in the game mechanics response. (Since I can't open a poll here, considering your Internet provider is doing well usually)

Something like this:

Playing the EU, I'm from Netherlands, usually 35-40ms on a fiber optic.

Playing on America, I’m from Australia, usually around 220-250 ping. Not entirely sure about the details of my internet other than that it’s TPG 5G
.

CYBRSOLDR
For me I'm in US playing on NA getting pings 15-22ms. On fiber

Edit: I'd give it a 10. Playing on PS4

eternaldolphin
on NA server, but i'm from south america. ping has never, ever been green. it's usually around 140, but can often go over 200 and sometimes even over 300.

voluble02
I am from asia ( india ) and my ping is mostly around 300-350. It suddenly dropped from 150-200 to 300-350 after version 3.2 update
.
HanlonsBadger
EU, Denmark, 11-20ms ping.

xtremefest_0707
Playing in Pakistan on the NA server with 230-270ms ping.
.

milliaswan
Server: Asia Country: Australia Ping: 170-200+ depending on time of day

I have the fastest plan I can get in my area (100 down 5 up), I’ve never seen green ping so I’m pretty used to what I have rn, but it does get annoying sometimes when you burst with the wrong character cos you thought you swapped but it didn’t quite register haha.

I’ll probably rate a 7 because at this point I know how to play around expected lag on inputs and I’ve never known any smoother.

Ping 120~230, Asia. Malaysia network sucks

cess_lyr_web

Playing on PC, on wifi, in East Malaysia. 300ms ping, was <100ms earlier this month. Weird.

= seems, Genshin Impact only has servers in China, EU and North America/USA, and a ping of around 100ms is tolerable for casual online gaming.

ZTE MU5210

Tested for a week now.
Bought at Shopee for RM1.6k. Search for sing4g shop.
Size is almost the same as my iphone 8 plus. Not that heavy, ~240gram and can function as 18W PD powerbank too.
When battery reaches 10%, it will shutdown the powerbank function.
Can lock to Band 77,78 as per recommendation, but i just use Auto mode only.
10,000mAH, can last about ~16 hours of operation, depending on how many devices & users connected. Max 32 users on 2.4ghz, 32 users on 5Ghz, totalling to 64 users.
So far no overheat or 5G speed drop due to heat issue. Just warm only.

Didn’t really use more than 4 hours so i can’t really say about the long lasting battery life.
When used after 4 hours on my 4 devices (2 iphones, ipad & windows laptop), battery life shown on screen was about 74%.

But from what i read on the manual, it’s NOT recommended to use the USBC charger while operating ala fixed 5G router type like those big towering routers.
It will degrade battery life.

Average 5G speed i get is as below at Jitra Kedah:

DL: 500Mbps
UL: 70Mbps

Average 4G speed when i go places where no 5G coverage

DL: 30Mbps
UL: 10Mbps

I believe this portable 5G router is just what i really need for travelling to KL, Penang for work purpose.
Just need to check for umobile 5G coverage on map then it’s good to go.

Will write a proper thorough review on Review Section when i have the time.  icon_rolleyes.gif
