A bit on the pricey side. What about Zyxel NR5103e?I understand that the speed can only reach about 500mbps. But how about the stability? Consistent 500mbps is good enough for my parents.

QUOTE(jagadis @ Sep 1 2023, 10:38 PM) A bit on the pricey side. What about Zyxel NR5103e? no official warranty…user interface not as easy like tplink…tplink got app…worth to top up the price difference (for the extra official warranty period already worth it).I understand that the speed can only reach about 500mbps. But how about the stability? Consistent 500mbps is good enough for my parents. unless if u say u can get THREE version of NR5103E at rm500, then the price is justified. Consistent 500mbps is good enough for my parents. I dont think your parent need 500mbps, do correct me with their usage if i am wrong to say so Thus, getting three branded nr5103e is suffices And the price is ard 700 in shopee after discount |

Mobile network ping will always high
But, 5g promise improvement over ping, but for SA likely Gaming depends on upload efficiency, not download So ping is upload related instead of download |

Still, compare 5g nsa now and 4g+ its already 50% improvement at least. To test, i decided today to play multiple dota in my office which is using zte 888+my tp link mesh Over three hours only spike once, otherwise all perfect. Having at least 15 devices connected to my network also So, i believe for gaming its good I tested CSgo on zyxel nr5106e couple weeks ago also, was good |

QUOTE(ahlong0180 @ Sep 1 2023, 09:02 PM) Subscribed to this U Home plan since last month, no 5G coverage/not using 5G phone or router. .Non- peak hours average 15-20mbps Peak hours (7pm-12am) 2-5mbps, TV box keep buffering. Waiting for news about Unifi plan being cheaper before cancelling this plan. Non-peak hours 4G LTE average speeds of 15-20Mbps likely means your 4G LTE modem-router does not support Carrier Aggregation or is not Cat.6 or higher, which can get 100+Mbps during non-peak hours. U Mobile 4G cell towers transceive on frequency Carriers or Bands 1, 3, 7 and 8. Maybe you should try these 4G LTE Cat.6 modem-routers, ......... https://shopee.com.my/Modified-Huawei-E5186...4392.6815416877 - Huawei-E5186-E5186-22-B593-22-Wifi-4G-LTE-Modem-Router - RM239 https://shopee.com.my/TP-LINK-M7450-CAT6-AC...80984.792181696 - TP-LINK-M7450-CAT6-AC1200-2.4-5Ghz-4G-LTE-Wifi-Modem-Router-Wireless-Sim - RM479 If your phone supports CA or is Cat.6 or higher, maybe you can use it to test the 4G LTE speeds on your U Home 5G plan. . QUOTE(9M-MAS @ Sep 5 2023, 08:36 AM) x50-5g is using tplink own deco meshnx510v is using easymesh chipset wise, no review or teardown of nx510v so don't know what's the 5g chipset used. but since it mentioned support carrier aggregate so i think it must be newer than x55 chipset so probably using same x62. the spec looks like customized for telco set but maybe no telco wants it then tplink just sell as consumer product. Been using and testing Deco X50 5G with UHome sim at my place. Was testing to replace my Time Fibre before going all in with U.
Very happy and satisfied with overall usage. Constantly getting speeds above 350-400mb compared to the 100 from Time. Contemplating moving the place or getting external antennas to improve reception. ![]() ![]() |
