Saw the same exact router for sell on taobao before this. Can't find it anymore but I'm pretty sure where all of these originated from and local sellers buy it to modify external enclosure with like fans.

Even if it uses Qualcomm modem chipset inside if no more firmware updates in future or the modem not flashable to open source firmware. The modem is good as dead one generation disposable just as how they obsolete the Android phones.

Please avoid custom mobile telco branded modems, their firmware have limited support and features like band-locking, customized heavily for a specific network or purposely made to limit for use of specific 5G network of a certain country.

AVOID even if it's CHEAPER.

Not even the EE/Three branded Zyxel modems?

If there's new firmware updates from EE/3, it's for their own 5G network not for Malaysian market. They use different combination of bands compared with us and the worst thing you want is they LOCK it down to prevent their modems from being used for competitor networks if the modem is SIM unlocked.

Last time many years ago B618 firmware got auto update remotely by hi-link or huawei or telco

deleted due to this seller set wrong price in lazada, they set terbalik 3 and EE price.

Finally pull the trigger during 9.9 buying the TPlink NX510v to replace my old MR6400 to pair with U Home 5G, so far using it fine but before adding the router cooler fan can feel the heat radiating from the bottom part of the router around the row of LED in the front. One thing i notice tho, nowadays is kinda hard to hit around 600mbps dload speed i got when 1st using the router, it hovers around 300-350mbps recently. Could be because the amount 5G users building up i guess, welp still faster than my old 4G connection or getting a lowly 30mbps fiber, so i'm content..

This one is good, boot up fast, can lock band, change imei and ttl

Also bought the same unit for Yes 5G flexi. Highest I got is about 700mbps download and 150mbps upload with 30ms ping in Penang. I am lucky enough to got a direct line of sight to a 5g tower around 350m away.
I am not sure if you need a fan below it. It actually have a fan internally, so you might actually disrupt its air flow...
You can hear the fan when you boot it up.

The lowest price I got is about RM965.53 after vouchers and stuff on Shopee from IBN.

I got mine from IBN also, deduct vouchers and coins got it for Rm960.62 from its normal price of RM1099 in shoppee.

Well it may not need the fan but after feeling the heat already gone from where i felt it before using the cooling fan gave me a lot more confidence in having it running 24/7 non stop.

I changed from u mobile hone 5g rm68 to yes 5g rm58 now to maxshit 5g unlimited rm53.
Both u mobile and yes cannot torrent without vpn.
Maxshit can torrent without vpn.

Hmm, I can torrent using Yes 5g RM58 though, without VPN. Though, you can use Cloudflare WARP (install the app, not just change DNS) with decent speed.

Still interested in the maxshit plan, seems like it isn't listed anywhere (yet).

Oh i see, i was using mekshit one plan b4 too for my personal usage at home bcoz i have maxis fiber on my name at my mum's place but the FUP was only 300gb and just to get 5G they told me i had to fork up another 30bucks++ to upgrade my plan to enable 5G both on my main line and supp line (router). That is without any bumping up of the FUP limitation, hence i jump to U Home 5G instead.
