I see. I guess that’s the only option. Not too convenient for me as I’m not in KV at the moment, I will find time to do it.

Planning to change to XOX IX-22 plan as I only need it for my mom when she’s back in hometown and a backup to UniFi 500Mbps at home.

You have full right to request unlock from your telco once your 24mths contract term is over. The device is your property after this and it's illegal for the telco to keep it locked only for their own network.

Tomorrow I will be terminating my U Home 5G. There is no issue with it, and I'm happy with it so far. However, since it is just a backup line, I don't feel like paying RM 72 (with SST), and I will switch to XOX 1X-22 for 100GB, which is enough for my backup purposes. I already tested the speed, and it is the same as U Home 5G; I guess they are using the same tower. I'll be saving RM 50 every month for my case. The good thing is that if I want to use U Home 5G again one day, I can always apply for it, as there is no contract attached.

If you've settled all remaining months and paid the termination fee, the binding contract is already considered completed.

The modem should already be your property because you've paid it in full.

What is the process for requesting full access?

Keep your application letter and final settled bill payment for proof. You can either bring the modem back to the retail store and ask for modem unlocking service to be done on your modem or you can contact their customer service to ask for modem unlocking service steps with the proof that your contract is over. Don't directly contact the manufacturer or equipment supplier they won't entertain you directly except for their client telco companies, only the telco is allowed to deal with them.

Your telco cannot deny you to unlock because the modem is already your property.

I wanted to terminate my U Home 5G service last Saturday, luckily, there is a shop near my place that can handle terminations. My billing is always on the last day of the month and I thought it will be pro-rated upon termination. Who knows, it will still charge me the full amount for one month, and I will need to call CS later to request a refund. I reckoned it was too troublesome for me to follow-up etc, I made a full one-month payment in advance and went back yesterday (31.07) to terminate it.

I had no issue with U Home 5G, and in fact, I was happy with the speed. It's overkill for my usage as a spare broadband, but luckily, it can be registered at any time and without a contract, so if I want to get it again one day, it is not an issue.

Eh, I was looking around for options before opting for XOX 1X-22. I didn't see this 5G 14, maybe I didn't see it carefully. laugh.gif
This is a good option. rclxms.gif

Looks like I can retire the XOX 1X-22 once I clear off two months (1 month in advance and free 1 month from the dealer).

Just only sometimes my mom goes back to our hometown twice in a month in 2-3 weeks apart, I have to buy twice for her. sweat.gif Let me work it out.

Thanks for the suggestion. thumbup.gif

take note that not all digi prepaid can use 5G.

i got a digi number with legacy plan it won't let me connect to 5G, only 4G, so speed capped at 100mbps.

My niece was using Digi prepaid until yesterday and she told me there’s no 5G shown on her phone. laugh.gif I transferred this number to her mom which is used by her now. So it means my Digi prepaid will have this issue also. She changed to XOX 1X-22 last night and got 5G. She’s so happy. laugh.gif

Anyway back to U Home 5G, I purposely terminated it on the last day of my plan (31st July) to avoid any follow-up for refund later on. Who knows I just received my latest statement from U Mobile and it shows it was terminated on 30th July and now I have a credit of 2.35 from U Mobile. laugh.gif sweat.gif

TP-Link Archer NX200 simple review.

1. Modem material and build is top quality and premium.

2. Speed is very good (non-peak i got 400+ Mbps, not even full bar of 5g).

3. Wifi signal is very strong. I still get less than 30ms ping even when im outside my house, outside the gate (terrace house). However, the dl speed is less, which is normal when the wifi is far.

4. Ping i always get less than 30ms. Sometimes less than 20ms.

5. Setup is very simple. Got app where you can tune some settings. The app is user friendly.

6. Got a built-in fan to regulate heat.

I am a happy user! Highly recommend this modem to others.

Brb gonna sell the free ZTE modem now.

Speed and line still good enough watch youtube 1080p 60 without buffering? I'm thinking of getting same setup TP Link Archver NX200 and 5g non contract sim for hotspot.

Do you put near window for max bars? Im scared the heat and dust will quickly kill it.

Depends... I find that live streaming for youtube is kinda sketchy for most ISP. If those offline content, then everything is cached and no problem with speed.

Sometimes I still find myself reaching for VPN whenever I had issues streaming 1080p60 for live LoL streams.
