it's straightforward and effective.
there are people using PoE ceiling mount industrial access point for better aesthetic.
POE is my next project. Once finalized the setup I've made, will do some cable management. Much neater to use single power supply. Already have 12V 5A power adaptor standby.
Also my next project will be load balancing. Many people thought LB to increase speed. All this because of Indon youtube videos. Gave the wrong info and people get the wrong idea.

Ping wise it's way better than 4G...it also depends on the signal you can get inside your house or room as well

But nothing will beat the ping of a wired fiber optic
Speed and ping is guaranteed and constant

Dont want la... YES 4G sucks... if any problem with 5G, I can still roll back to 4G with UM (BTW UM has a building and a tower right in front of my factory).

Besides I already tested my UM with X50 5G in my office... 500Mbps easily.

Side note, no wonder UM not really getting much attention from businesses. Registration is hell. I called my fav shop and was told only HQ could proceed. I walked into UM and thought that is what they mean by HQ but apparently they only serve personal registration. They have another dept in UM which handle corporate registration and strictly online only. Imagine having cancelled your only internet with Celcom only to encounter this problem. Luckily for me, I had 5G plan which currently served as backup.

Hi all,

Anyone encounter such issue with Speedtest always returns 100Mbps range?

I'm using TP Link Dec X50 5G modem, after reboot the modem still no improving.

Where's if using another different U Mobile 5G sim card no issue and easily achieve 300Mbps.

You use what to speedtest? LAN? WIFI? The most accurate I think is by using your smartphone (decent ones) to test. Some LAN cable are limited to 100Mbps especially if you went through an old switch. Some laptop or mini pc wifi card is 1x1 which makes even 100Mbps is a struggle. For example, I bought a cheapo mini pc powered by Intel N100. The realtek wifi card is a pain in the ass... giving between 50-60Mbps. I tried a usb wifi dongle which I get for free and easily 150Mbps. With my Realme GT Neo 3, I get almost 500Mbps.

You are connecting through mesh when doing speedtest? Not all mesh are created equal.

Yes, I connected to my modem unit TP Link X50 directly utilising WiFi6 network which also a paired with a unit Mesh located upstairs above.

Anyway my point here is why the difference so obvious with 2 different sim card Speedtest inserted into X50 5G modem.

I'm puzzled as the modem latched to same 5G transmission tower and same B28+n78 frequency.

Well, havent you heard of the rumors from those years when they claimed Maxis speed > Hotlink? Its just like how some reported that they cant use the internet when inserting the broadband sim into their phone or inserting the smartphone plan sim into the router. I see no surprise here.

What is more interesting is what you get from which plan. Why dont you share your findings?

Speedtest is kinda irrelevant nowadays because ISP throttled bandwidth according to app/site.

For example, Maxis is throttling Youtube, so are Unifi. However most users dont notice them. Why? Because they cached the videos and hence no problem for most users. It only occurs when you watched live events like MOBA or MMORPG. Only then you will realized that youtube is being throttled and you cant even watch it on FHD on your smart tv unless you have VPN.

I have 2 sim card both from U Mobile, Postpaid 38 and UHome5G.
The findings i have to narrow down testing with X50 5G modem swapping sim card in between:

Postpaid 38 is uncapped able to reach 300Mbps (120GB quota limit) + hotspot enabled.
While UHome5G always hovering around 100Mbps. (1TB quota limit)

Bare in mind both sim card FUP utilisation not yet exceed limit.

The modem is fine and not faulty, i suspect is the provider speed capped my UHome 5G sim card.

Now thats weird, using UHome5G on my Tplink NX510v currently no problem getting around 250-300mbps download. hmm.gif
The last time i faced the speed seems like stuck at 100mbps was when i tried using UHome5G on it's own stupid ZTE modem/router. Can't get above 100mbps no matter what i did.. doh.gif doh.gif
