QUOTE(gnc88 @ May 9 2024, 01:39 PM) I’m no Forrest Li…. But I started as a house officer sleeping on a mattress laid on the floor of a rented room. And, in addition to investment properties both residential and commercial in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, home is now a freehold landed detached house in the core central region of Singapore (all thanks to my wife who took up Singapore citizenship 20 years ago). So, yes, it can definitely happen.

But, alone S-pass may be a little hard especially you have only worked 5 months. You can start applying by the 6th month? It may be a little hard as some forumers here have applied about a year, and yet to get any reply thus far.

I heard from my barber (ok, ok, he prefers to be called a hairstylist) that they are now required to demonstrate Singapore-issued diplomas to boost their chances. Do you have any Singapore issued qualifications?

I have always been an EP holder prior to this. So that could possibly be the game changer for me.

So that could possibly be the game changer for me. Transitioning from a work permit to an S Pass is proving to be challenging. In sectors like maintenance, technical, manufacturing, or assembly, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) tend to limit the number of S Passes they issue or just said their quota not enough (cheat), either due to quotas or salary considerations. But now, despite the difficulties, I can see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Ah OK .. maybe you will get some results soon .. haha Frankly, I'm still waiting since they have yet to issue the letter. Just from hearsay, if you can update medisafe on cpf website >> confirmed getting. On the other hand, on the ICA web, you can reapply >> your PR is rejected. Not sure is it true or not. Getting all these from xhs.

Depending on your qualification and niche of your job. If you're an accountant, finance, sales, IT, etc, chances is quite low; while these jobs are highly demanded, they can easily be filled anytime. I believe the criteria is more on the scope of your job rather than the pass you're holding.

Haha .. in fact I have been chilling with my wife the whole day today. Took a break, went for a stroll around the mall, had our dinner. Seems to be a great day today.

You'll love it in Singapore. It's like winning the golden ticket in the residency lottery! 🎉👍👍👍 I hope you will enjoy all the museums like the Peranakan Museum, Sun Yat Sen Museum, Istana Open House, ...... as PR is free or cheaper than foreigners' ticket prices. May I know if it's through SMS, paper letters, or SingPass notifications? This post has been edited by plouffle0789: May 10 2024, 03:29 PM
