Any one more than 1 year no result?

My one is 10 months.

I heard it's faster to get PR approved now. Most of the cases are about 6 months or less, unless you're not within the selected criteria, you may require more documents, etc.

I just applied mine a couple of months ago under my wife's sponsorship but nothing so far.

Facebook group 新加坡PR交流區 1 person said need more than 1 year

It's rather random, most of the Malaysians I know got theirs within 6 months .. those from Indonesia apparently faster too recently .. those from other countries may take a little longer ..

If you're an EP holder, doubt u have to worry. S pass may take a little longer.

Last time, my friend applied for Permanent Residency (PR) in 2021 with an Employment Pass (EP), but he failed to obtain it.
Perhaps it was because he transferred all his salary to Malaysia and didn't have much savings in Singapore.
My S Pass is going to be renewed for another two years this September 2024.
I hope I can get PR so that I won't need to renew my S Pass again. I'm worried that the company may not have enough S Pass quota.
*
Is he a guy? Haha .. usually its harder for a guy to get it .. they seem to prefer females ..

Oh good luck then .. hate s pass too due to quota .. else ask your company to upgrade you to EP .. haha

1st time I heard they prefer female.

Is it your female friends get PR then your male friends?
*
Yes .. haha ..

My wife got her PR within 6 months, and she applied 6 months from her employment.

Her colleague, a male got rejected 3 times before he succeeded and ranks 2 level higher than her .. but his conversion to citizen was smooth.

Another male colleague of her still getting rejected until today after like many tries .. from what I heard coz he participated in the bersih rally .. hence the rejection

My Indonesian colleague and her fren got it within 6 months. Both female.

A male Burmese applied for almost 2 years but it was really hard for him to get it .. they came back to him requesting multiple documents .. despite he's a PhD holder and currently working for government

A friend of mine got his within 6 months too .. male but he has a lot of savings in sgd .. he used to work here before he returned to Malaysia for phd .. then applied after working for about 2 years

If you have an FD in one of the banks .. shouldn't be hard .. I heard if you have an insurance policy .. the likelihood of getting PR is higher too

I'm also waiting for mine anxiously because we would like to get a unit ASAP .. but I'm kinda worried they may classify me under marriage of convenience..

what benefit getting PR at SG? maybe can share and list here.
*
Getting a new job? Get some extra money from CPF? Get yourself a place you call home instead of renting(only if your other half is a PR too)? Medical benefits?

After living in Sg for almost 10 years .. I kinda sell myself to them .. I used to tell myself that I would return to Malaysia .. but I feel that its different in sg compared to Malaysia .. so getting a PR provides more flexibility compared to a work pass holder ..

For me that is easy to jump to another company......
No jump,increment low...

And no need every 2 years go to clinic take blood test.
Go to all museum is free.
Have CPF...
*
Best not to hop around with a working pass when applying PR .. for my case .. my job scope is rather niche hence hopping is hard for me

Lucky my Pass is 5 years .. haha

I have more than 60,000 SGD in a fixed deposit with Maybank Singapore.

It has been more than a year since I opened the fixed deposit.

I hope MY PR application will be approved in March, or even better, before Chinese New Year Chap Goh Mei (24/2).
So your wife guaranteed and submitted your PR application?

So far, I've never heard of anyone being classified under marriage of convenience, unless it's a fake marriage.

In the past, there have been cases where illegal prostitutes married old men.
They weren't living together, and the Singapore Registry of Marriages officer noticed and reported it to the ICA or police.
Big news on newspaper.

Should be OK I guess, maybe u should have FD in their local bank, after all maybank is still a Malaysian bank .. haha

Coz I applied PR under my wife about 6 months from our ROM, so they may be a little wary about it .. and I'm currently employed less than 6 months

I thought E pass max is 3 years?

Duration of renewed pass Up to 3 years. The duration of the renewed pass is not affected by the length of validity of your passport.

https://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits/e...ss/renew-a-pass
Why you have more than 3 years?
Follow exactly passport?
*
No idea, they issued me until 2028. Mine is a new pass .. I didn't renew it .. I was carrying a student pass back then .. EP > student > EP again ..

I have no idea how the passes work .. haha

When you applied PR,you still work at malaysia?
*
No, I'm working in Sg now .. so I am applying under my wife while I'm working in Sg .. we got married when I was a student .. then I applied the pass about 2 months down my employment .. so I decided to tag onto my wife to expedite the process .. however we didn't take the marriage of convenience into consideration .. so a little worried about it .. if you read them on reddit or expat forum .. there's a lot of such cases where they got rejected

Your race is an important factor, if u malaysian chinese, should not have any issues. If rejected, just try again, just a matter of time before u get it.

If u non malaysian and non chinese, dont bother, waste of time.
*
Haha .. yes that's what I heard too .. but I think TS wants to rush due to the possibility of quota issue

I thought ICA just rejected and will not give any reason?
*
Yes, they don't. But, if you read on other forums they kinna raise this up, so I am worried to be rejected.

So you study degree then work then study master?

School fees no subsidy?

I pursued my PhD .. I was under scholarship, hence I was not eligible for PR throughout the programme.

With a PhD, I don’t see the issue with them not granting you PR… good luck in advance!

Most malaysian will go back to malaysia only after age 60 or retired

I don't know man .. it's hard to decide as of now .. sg kinda like a drug .. while things may be a little expensive but I do get a better and healthier life .. whenever I return to Malaysia I feel my diet/lifestyle is so unhealthy .. I have just returned for a day for cny and I feel everything is sooo bad haha

At least you have all planned out ..

I'm still early into my career, a lot of catch up to do. I would say I'm kinda late compared to my peers of the same age .. I took a gamble and hope it would pay off in the future by doing what I love

For what fark? My parent have nothing to do with my employment si kiasu land
*
Why would it be P&C when they have the authority over you?

They have to ensure that you have a clean record before they can accept you right?

I’d imagine you would have NCID staff knocking on your door for your expertise especially during COVID! I reckon you’re a shoo-in for PR. Singapore would be lucky to have you smile.gif

I'm still learning the ropes. Just need to do my best. Haha
