Guys thinking to get my first mkb..
I know I need a full size with number pad.
Wireless if possible as I don't like wire..
Do these mkb reliable? My current wireless keyboard used over 10 years still good condition but not mkb..

What price can I expect or brand with below requirement
Option 1
Wireless full size with number pad (brown switch if possible, worry too disturbing to other for the sound )
No RGB (I see like all selling rgb)
Not sure if hot swap price different alot?

Option 2
Same as option one but with RGB. (how long these rgb can turn on before we charge it)

Option 3
Same as option 2 but Wired RGB

I tried to search found a few my liking but don't have number pad.. Susah la I mao kerja excel press numberpad and arrow button... Haha
*
you may try with this model, its have 3 mode for you to use it and with RGb as well
also is a hot swappable keyboard...

just realized the 0 key on this kbd75v3 didn't register properly sometimes; joints looked ok to me; fixed by touching the joints with a hot iron for a second or two to let solder reflows.

i never use 75 extensively. they are there in case i really need to use a lot of f-rows.

RK860 is rm217 at Lazada.

Some modding will be required to optimize it. But I think the start up cost is more up your alley.

This one? what mean start up cost is more up my alley?

What type of modding? seems quite good and over 3000Mah, not sure how long will these rgb last ..
its seems cheapest full size?

Much too late...I finally found someone selling 1.5mm thick POM sheets.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10050048880...38daHBEHmp&mp=1

I'm trying to stick with my current board and declare endgame...but I think I'll buy a few of these just in case... innocent.gif

nice smile.gif

in my case, given a particular combination of parts to make a complete board that i want, with no more room to improve, i will call it an endgame.

this makes more sense to me, because different combos have own uniquenesses, and i will never stick to one board.

my current preferred board is a tray-mount, with mixed switches, pom plate, minimal foam, zt60 case, epbt double-shot abs keycaps, plate-mount stabilizers, using partial friction mounting with silicon gasket o-rings. (basically it's the complete board with 64-key 60% in my signature) to me, that's the closest to my preferences, in terms of typing feel. it's relatively louder than my expectations, but it's fine.

edit: i know i use parts that might look less optimal. for instance, keycaps, because i don't pick options like gmk/jtk/epbt that have thicker walls. the thing is, i have done tests with them, and epbt double-shot abs produces relatively better typing feels with the combo imo, compared to others.

nk dream cream, from novelkeys's cream series, is also known as kailh dream cream. (review by theremingoat) it's a full-pom-based mx style linear switch.

for this build i use poron plate foam, but do not use switch films and ixpe switch pads/sheets. (usually i use all three, to make a build sound relatively quieter)

I replaced my 6 year old Corsair K65 with a Keychron V1 recently while done some researching over the holidays.

Gotta say this hobby is fun and rewarding, also seems not too costly nowadays. Kind of relaxing to mod boards while listen to youtube/podcast.

Was at MKB store the other day (not opening) and the store was packed!

technically, it depends on what you're after. but yes, things have changed since few years ago, after built-in switch hotswapping was introduced in the market.

with commercial parties offerring prebuilts/barebone units that are more convenient for modifications to users, and help bring down costs through mass production, it's not really costly today.

Did they have good clones keycaps there? Thinking of dropping by next week to get some clones for my next board. Saving a few hundreds for a small difference is a no brainer to me

yeah, gotta say soldering on pcbs scares me. the old corsair wasnt cheap too but i have had enough of those cherry reds. Now its so liberating to change switches whenever i want it.

What keycap profiles you guys used? Really like the look of SAs but dont think I can get used to it.

Omg so tempting. I've always loved the sound of creams, but never bought them because I "knew" that I was a tactile guy. Now that I'm daily driving Boba LT, this means that creams are a viable option. moneyflies.gif moneyflies.gif moneyflies.gif

yes, figured. it's fine, at least now you can enjoy like the rest of us haha

soldering and desoldering were often desribed as 'difficult'. initially i was also stopped by horror stories told by many. as it turned out, athough those stories were real, they were not complete. if you observed these incidents closely, you will find out the real truths (e.g., rookie mistakes; user inexperience with tools on hand; inexperienced user + bad tools; user comments based on frustrations, instead of finding out what actually went wrong; so on and so forth).

the original idea of this hobby is always about tuning what you have, or build your own, so that you can have long-lasting comforts and good typing experience. back in those days, most people started with the first option, tuning what they have. they screwed up during desoldering, and then quitted. however if they tried the second option, i.e., build they own, they would find out, with the right tools, soldering and desoldering are the simplest of all steps in a build process. (tedious, but still simple)

the above have been brought up and reminded by experienced users before. however everyone else was busy chasing hypes.

yeah it's relatively loud, so i let it scream a little lol

i'm fine with mx style tactile and clicky switches also. i just prefer linear more. topre is the only tactile switch that is not my cup of tea, because of my light touch typing habits.

Yeah in the shop I did try out all sort of switches, they have plenty of them on 2 big test boards, from linears to clickies all labelled.

End up getting the Leobog Icesoul, don't find much info but i really like them. Primarily gaming but typing now is more accurate compared to when using linears.

Forgot to ask, any recommendation for keycaps with good shine though dark environment? Prefer not fully transparent ones.
