This was what I was afraid of. If have actual research that tells you it's okay for the people inside the car for serious crashes, then maybe. For sure it helps in minor fender benders, but that crumple zone issue is still a thing to worry about.

I have taken delivery of my silver AV and have been driving it for a few days now. I have a couple of observation/query that I like to share as well as to look for advice & suggestions:

1. While I am pleasantly surprised with the many features of driving support system & found them very useful, in particular, the Blind Spot Monitor (many of the rest yet to have real-life experience), I also experienced 'engine suppression' frequently while driving slowly, turning or accelerating, instead of the normal smooth driving. Wonder whether this is due to some settings on some features? Anybody has similar experience?

2. The AV model's light switch comes with 'Auto' instead of 'Off' switch, which is convenient. However, I noticed that my head lamps come on as soon as I pass through a shaded area such as driving under a flyover that runs across the road. In KL whether there are many such flyovers & shaded areas such as the 'massive' LRT/MRT stations, the head lamps will turn on & off upon coming across such short sections of the road. There seems to be no way to adjust the 'sensitivity' or 'delay' in this 'auto' function. Is this normal or is my unit especially sensitive? Unfortunately, there is no 'Off' switch. Any suggestions?

3. I don't find the eco IDLE feature useful for me as most of my driving is around Klang valley where continuous start-stop driving at traffic jams are the norm (& the aircon compressor with stop when the eco IDLE system kicks in), it will likely to cause more wear & tear on the battery, starter & probably air-con compressor. There is a third party switch that one can buy to permanently disable this feature (Alza only allows disabling for the drive). Is it more advisable to install this switch or to remember to disable this feature every time we drive?

Thank you.......

1. Yeah, notice got jerking when you not pressing throttler pedal and let car cruise till stop/slowly drive. Feel like the overrun fuel cut off system/CVT want to disengage pulley.
2. Your front windshield got add/change another tinted? If too sensitive due dark tinted can change sensor to clear type (got sell in Shopee). If want to have off switch need change to Ativa switch got off light feature. But it also will also off light at AC display and dash meter if not mistaken.
3. I install the bypass cable to auto turn off eco idle feature when starting the car. Afternoon cannot stand the heat when turn off engine. During night sometime i turn on back eco idle (outside temperature is fine and eco idle will off engine much longer). Every 6 month before going service I take out back the bypass cable (scare warranty kacau). Some people no issue to turn off every time starting the car.

it folds flat but since the back of the seats are hard, so may not be comfortable (at least for me, but personally have not tried to sleep on it before).

if you put a thin mat / padding on it first, should be better.

if managed to get a show unit car, best to try it yourself. maybe any members here can give comments.

There is a slight incline rising a bit towards the dashboard, not completely flat.

After folding, the back of the third and second row seats are hollow hence your body not properly supported, you need another hard 'platform' to sleep on.

To the back of the front seats can fit in 6 feet. If move the front passenger seat and tilted forward get another extra foot but width constraint by the front arm rest.

Thanks for the advice & suggestions:

1. I activated power mode and the 'engine suppression' is much less noticed, but, occasionally still can feel it. I noticed this happens when the car slows down & the CVT swift to lower gear (can see the rev-counter moves down then up), most noticeable with normal drive mode (didn't try eco drive mode, presumably will be most noticeable).

2. Thanks for the comment. It just feels odd that the headlamps come on full suddenly when you just passed under a short shaded road biggrin.gif

3. What's 'ct coil connector' - is it the additional funny device at the positive connector to the battery?

1. I agree with you, probably due to the CVT - less visible under Power drive mode. Just have to get use to it instead of thinking maybe the handbrake is on or a flat tire sad.gif

2. I have not changed anything in the car yet, so, no change in windshield tint. Thought for AV model, they should provide 'Auto' headlamp as an added feature instead of a replacement for 'Off' headlamp dry.gif

3. Yes, eco idle can be irritating under hot weather. Still looking for a good solution. For now, just manually disable every time.

1. possible CVT.. but have not tried this in ativa or even myvi.. do they have this jerking too? at some point I do feel like when very slow speed, Aircond comp kicks in, it just jerked.. like I donno how to drive manual with clutch one...i think the tuning not done properly..

2. i have not changed the sensor cover yet.. later la. I keep that way for now.

3. ya.. eco idle very irritating.. sometimes not 100% stop car, then engine just cut off. i just off it after start engine.. if forgot, press again lo.
