for photo just used my celfone and apps to get the right size.
reply came back with reject due to photo.

went to imm office , they took my photo and thumbprint s again .. very fast 10 mins all done .
and requested to come back in 1 hour for collection .

for walk in s the wait is longer cos need to wait another round to pay the fee s. at another counter.

in short .
best to apply online , dont worry about photo , cos can retake by the officer in 1 min.
look for imm office with less crowds.

i did check the imm office at my hometown in perak.
my cousin went early 730AM to get number .
8 AM they start give numbers . those late comers just walk in already can get number but for afternoon .
after you submit to officer they will say come back in 1 hour to collect.
if your home is nearby can just go back home or mall and come back anytime before closing time to collect.
not so stress i think .

if site suggest reupload, then just reupload. remember to crop your photo to the correct specifications indicated by the dotted lines. If you go take photo on the spot then you'll join the huge queue with the senior citizens

it's not the file size, but the portrait dimensions. Many photo studios got the dimensions wrong, e.g. the face position, white space on top of the head, etc. When I uploaded my photo, I just scanned an old photo from the studio, but had to photoshop in extra white space on top, crop away the shoulder, etc. Once the portrait dimensions can fit the dotted lines in the website template, then it will definitely pass

After you submit everything, if you got the email from imigresen, you can directly go to the office the next day, no matter is LULUS or CAP JARI or anything.
If no email response, maybe in the SPAM? Or wait 3 days.

In case the photo you uploaded keep having an error, just anyhow try adjusting your face smaller within the border prepared, and adjust the brightness until it goes ok.
They usually won't use the photo you uploaded as they will still re-take a new photo for you at the counter on the spot!

Must remember to wear dark color collar t-shirt to renew in case you will be asked for a photo retake

The receipt must be printed out, they will collect it.

Bring along old passport + IC + hardcopy receipt.

Strangely, i thought photo studios in this business as the expert, would know better of the required dimension. Thats a lot of adjustment you did there hahaha.

But recall someone mentioned cant use back the same photo as your last passport --> then again its hearsay, not sure how legit.

Sounds like those photo studios need to buckle up!
The soft copy I received had
- <1mb in size
- clean background (I know the physical studio was a white cloth draped behind, so it created some shadows. The background removal was done professionally, even preserving my hair strands at the edges.
- more white space and shoulder shot than needed... but it allowed me to align the lines in the website template. Then again, I personally have photoshop/photo editing experience so it's also easy for me to self-validate my alignment by actually using photo editor rulers + print screening the sample given and paste onto mine to cross check, but I guess the best a photo studio could do was to get the dimension 100% correct to the point the user can just upload without the need to align anything

Is it a must to print out the receipt? Today is a Sunday and it is a bit difficult to find a print shop that is open..Plan to go tomorrow morning.

Yes. You will need to print out and bring the hard copy receipt.

Don’t forget to bring along your ic and old passport.

Yes, as I know. It's a must. They will collect it and cross-check something.
The receipt won't be returned to you. They will keep it.

Only the people who fail to do online renewal, with evidence that it is system problem with errors screenshots are allowed to walk in without receipt.

Been over 3 days. Status on site still says processing. Need an email? Or just print receipt can queue ady?

Went there at Friday after their prayer break, been told by the officer no more number at 3pm.

i got mine returned/ cut last week .

Please do not go to JIM to collect your passport if you have not received the email “Keputusan Permohonan Pasport: Lulus”. I renewed and paid for my passport online on Thursday around 4pm, but on Friday 3pm I failed to collect my passport from JIM as it’s not in the system yet.

Probably will this weekend. Status as of today still says PERMOHONAN DALAM PROSES. Meanwhile friend of mine that paid after I did ady reject and ask to re-upload photo.

Until the day I go to the Imigresen for renewal, my status also still is PERMOHONAN DALAM PROSES. So no worries, just go there
