The process on the online portal is not perfect.

If you're struggling with the online portal I suggest doing it the traditional way ie. walk-in.

Go on Lazada/Shopee, look for one of those who can edit your photo for you.

If you can get your photo uploaded, the collection process will be a lot smoother - I was in and out of UTC in less than 3 minutes.

It’s faster to go to the nearest UTC. If you’re in KL, the fastest branch to get your passport is UTC Keramat. Don’t bother going to Pudu.

No need. I wait for lulus email. Print out receipt, lulus email and bring old passport, IC, walk into immigration at 3pm said I want to collect passport, ask need to take number? Counter staff see all my paper work and told me go straight to counter xyz and put my paper and old passport in their basket there and will call me.

Had to verify my thumbprint X2 then only can collect passport.

Came out in like 10 minutes

Lol no need. I renewed my passport last 2 weeks
Issue with thumbprint, went to imigresen branch selected online at 4.30pm skipping all the queues, got my passport at 6pm

If done online then how long till the passport collection?

Supposedly 3 days. If you don't want to queue, wait for email which said lulus and can collect.

If after 3 days (office hour submission), no lulus email you can go queue up with the receipt. The officer told me can take up to 2 weeks for the lulus email. Mine was exactly day 3 around 3pm the email came in

Check your application status at the site.

Sometimes emails come in late.

If say not fail. Then just wait for the email to come for an appointment.

If it say fail due to photos. Ignore it don't upload again. And just go straight to UTC

Check your receipt down most under notis kehadiran if there is any reason stated
It wasn't highlighted/flagged during the process, I only checked and noticed it because didn't receive the lulus email after a few days
In my case, my thumbprint record was missing so need to go to branch and retake it

If no email after 3 days you can go immigration office but come early say 7am to queue to get number. They got quota for that day around 200 only. Once reach quota, they won't give number already.

I can frankly tell u imigresen does not entertain walk in for passport renewal for age 18-60 years old, u will be wasting your time queuing for nothing.

U have to present the passport, imigresen will cut it and u can retain the old passport

Damn glad I renewed in March during MCO and the appointment system basically meant short queues. Wish they made the appointment system permanent instead of asking people to gamble on a queue number.

I just did for my whole family. UTC Selangor does not allow walk in unless 1st time application or under 18 year old. Must do online and wait 3 days
