i find that symmetric speed (both upload and download) always give better overall user experience.

Depend on device, if 30M 1 person, sure feel the bottleneck of 10M upload, because default router QoS don't works on upload, and 30M only fully used for 4k video.

Yea  haha !! Finally renewed my broadband contract and planning to use this pair of mesh routers for my inlaw's house but couldn't get them to work. Had you tried using them for Unifi before?
*
No. I had this lousy wifi router before but I sold it to use Linksys one when I used StarHub fibre broadband previously.

If free router by lion city ISP, most of them do not work with unifi Becos no VLAN setting in them.

you can buy cheap VLAN switches to untag them in-between

ONU <--> VLAN SWITCH <--> ROUTER

Yes I know. Too troublesome to do so. No point. And VLAN switch is not exactly very cheap which one can use it to buy a better wifi router with VLAN function already.

I use this gigabit VLAN switch.
TL-SG105E around RM80+
TL-SG108E around RM120+

even 5-port should be enough if just to untag.

Ah alright. thanks for the update. But if that small difference, i think I'll wait for the MSAP announcement. Time flies very fast without realizing it.

Here is the RM119 that I mention previously.

Usually TM does not allow it if the user is still in the promo plan contract
SWU 1.0 and SWU 2.0 are promo plans

Interesting, let me study a bit if getting a switch can fix this issue cause it's a waste to get new routers to slightly upgrade the wifi signal in the house.

RM99 for 100Mbps is good if there is a free speed upgrade in September.

With same price RM 69:

Allo: Download 100 mbps, upload 100 mbps.
Unifi: Download 30 mbps, upload 10 mbps.  doh.gif
*
It's cheaper if you have own infra and not have to piggyback TM's monopolistic and expensive HSBB network
Unfortunately Allo has very limited coverage and is not a threat to TM so TM won't be compelled to compete on price.
Other ISPs too have offered lower prices but limited to their own lines and therefore also not a threat.
