Just had my parking sensor module changed.
Waiting time for approval and parts around 2 weeks.

Symptom is cross sensing when staying behind crv or civic. Front parking sensor goes crazy even the distance is far.
Too bad didnt encounter any crv/civic otw back home. Lol.

Guys. I wanted to ask….
Regarding about the product recall. On November 7th, I’ve checked on the website and it says I have 2 items. The gearbox to be replaced and the rack to be inspected.

Then suddenly I got an invoice on Honda touch saying I’ve claimed the items from my SC on Nov 15th.
Which is not true.
But I did have claimed the steering rack once around December 2023.
I didn’t get any charges for it.

Now I rechecked on the product recall website it says I have only the steering rack to be inspected…
Is this normal ? I felt like I got cheated or something.

Mine was not replaced in the first year (2022-2023) and then in 2024 early of the year they replaced for me.

Anyway "normal" to them means they don't know what to do....yet.

"normal" later becomes other actions when they know what to do....

just done my 30k service over the weekend. my car vin listed for the steering rack issue. SC informed no items delivered yet and will call once they have received it.

so far i dont have anything severe, minor sticky steering and some noise if turn on very low speed. As usual all gone once you go for scheduled service..

on FB people keep asking if the Rack on this got a new update or not. Many ex owner just turn off with this brand due to rack issue.

So weird if they choose to not replace the rack with the updated part (if it's even available??) because they're increasing cost on themselves to honor warranty for these new buyers.

More likely they've signed a supply contract with the local supplier of the steering rack for X amount of racks, and they determined the cost of replacement for owners is lesser than the cost of voiding the contract / returning / replacing all the unused steering rack stocks

Whether the steering rack really came from a local supplier is anyone's guess since we are not the only country that suffer from this issue. Also how many leftover inventory they have until they eventually move to the 'new part' in production line

Again this had been happening since previous FC gen Civic

not sure u guys seen 1 youtube comparing toyota and honda at taiwan, the video shared most of honda parts is from japan itself, while toyota is from thailand, then only some is locally sourced. so i believe is same for our country.

Not surprised since a criteria for CKD is certain amount of locally sourced parts

Guys, have any of you use 3rd party cvt fluid for your honda? Instead of the standard honda hcf-2. Thought of using 3rd party one such as castrol, which is more expensive. Wondering will it be better?
