Yesterday I went to test drive a CRV and enquired also about the civic.

The salesman must have thought I am rich enough to afford the CRV and so kept telling me the civic S lowest spec will likely not have Honda sense (above 130k) and V spec will be 140k+ as speculated by some previously. While civic RS will be 160k+

He also mentions that it’ll take another 3 months for Civic to be launched. In other words he is trying to imply I got no choice and time to wait for civic. Must buy a CRV NOW!

I think all these salesman wanna sell something real quick and as high as possible…while we as consumers perhaps still care about our wallets. At least I do. But for sure I’m not keen to find the same guy.

My own take from this doesn’t change, I have waited long enough for the 10th gen to phase out so that Honda sense can be passed downstream to S and E for lower, price, but if due to inflation or greed, they wanna keep the price higher I guess I may either just get the old model 2nd Hand, or my first choice is to buy a Corolla cross. All I’m saying is competition is stiff in this price range too.

I also went to test drive the 1.8V Corolla cross and I’m quite happy with it, except for the lack of power. I now have every belief that the hybrid at 137k will solve all my problems…so, I’m more keen towards that if the price of Civic is same. Even the 1.8V is already acceptable actually (I’m not a racer, I’m actually a very mild uncle).

6 years ago perhaps ketam only under 120k and then you were still spending 1.5x for the Accord. Things are relative. By the way, we are stuck in this useless discussion about why things are expensive (aka why I can't afford this and that while my neighbour can, wawawa), because we have wondrously capable government system that ensures our RM is ever so competitive, by ensuring that our citizens are ever more competitively skilled, educated, incorruptible and hard-working. This is how a currency (value of a country) appreciates vs USD. In other words we deserve it. The question should be how to work our way out of this mud.

And then D segment also went out of fashion when ppl flocked to the CRV  (for now, at 170k) which seems to solve more problems than an Accord. So, OEM's did the smart thing by re-shaping their product tiering a bit...

Personally they need to keep that gap at around 30k / 25% from Civic to the next higher, and 25% above from the lower tier (City). Too different and ka blam, their business models start going out of whack.

The most important thing is are you in (the new Civic) or are you out?

sorry, mention incorrect way. i mean ya for current tcp using 18' + ps4 too but i want to say is HM improving new civic by this way if exterior choose to build in bose system and rear air cond, the cost will be higher.

Some more as we known that inflation of economy, first of all tires in the market price getting expensive more and more those parts... i guess those car price will slightly increase on next year.

i sit in many vios up to 110km/h and also tested the corolla with just stock dunlop, didn't notice too much harshness at highway speeds. Maybe my existing cars are also noisy.

Overall I won't be surprised that the new Civic will be MORE expensive than the old one, but I will be very surprised if it decides to compete Mazda 3 instead of Toyota Corolla. Traditionally it has always been cheaper than the Corolla for same tier, and offered more kit at the same time. Nothing should limit it their ambitions or greed of course, just a matter of demand vs supply.

But yeah - The difference in space, is not a lot comparing vios to Corolla. The same can be true when comparing a City to Civic (There is a reason why those two B sedans sell so well).

Even though I have no plans for the high spec 10” display, I also feel sad that it’s not offered. It does add driving value if you see what it can display vs the 7in.

I think we can start the tikam session since there is only 24hrs to launch.

S - 120k
V - 135k
RS - 145k

Nobody is here to compare which model is superior. What is the pt. So what if the fe is better than x70 or so what if the x70 is better. There will still be a car better than the civic, there will still be a car better than the x70. Just like a phone. There is always a newer model, a better model. You cant chase them all. You cant satisfy them all. There is no perfect phone, no perfect system, no perfect car. You just go for what fits

There is no wireless charging. Yes
There is no 10 ft meter display. Yes
There are no bose speakers. Yes

And without those features where r we at? Rm144k without insurance. And if we get them all? Rm150k to rm160k? You think you r smart? Can push for all features to be included without additional costs? Getting premium for pasar malam price?

At the end of the day. If you r not satisfied. Dont buy. If you seek for the perfect car dont look here. What is the pt of coming to a civic thread n bash it. Go keep your mazda 3, vw mk8, toyota cross worship blah blah blah else where. I would think it will be equally irritating to find civic fanboys going to a mazda, toyota or a vw thread to bash their cars. Not happy dont buy. No money dont buy. Dont come in here n expect perfection with this price, with a luxury car expectation. It is not as if honda ceo will be here to hear u whine. Last they see, the roads r fill with civics fc n honda cities. Do u think they care 100% what u think? 7-8 years HRV needing many wear and tear replacements doesn't do much favor either.

Add in dynamat sound proofing solves the problem. Had this on my 14 yrs old and it's still strong, no rust, excellent during heavy rain

Also - when empty (0 distance to empty), there is around 1.3 gallons (5L) of fuel reserve before completely stopping

Do we have start stop system in here ? I just realize the physical button to disable the system is not available.
