not android base, some crap Honda proprietary software

that feels worse than cheap aftermarket HU lol
*
ah shit, cos eye-ing on HR-V but seems like is same HU. bought a TPMS android one for my preve, thinking if can get car wan transfer over the system lol. Like tat kenot liao.

HR-V waiting time 1year+ for RS, maybe cannot get in time for SST, looking at civic but me sarawak here driving civic very low, the road very lousy maybe can drive at city only sweat.gif is this FE lower or higher than FC? also heard some complains about the seat firmness, worry about this also. V spec got ambient lighting at foot area? or only RS got?

ya cannot self install android app unless you hack/re flash or something on the HU

Civic FE is same height as FC outside IINM, but interior wise, much better for ingress/egress though ACTUAL seating position is similar if not same as FC.
suspensions are much more compliant than the FC so that will handle a lot better on road irregularities.
but new 2022 Iriz (not sure on Persona, haven't tried) will trump even the even the Civic FE when it comes to road irregularities and compliance, overall comfort.
yes i just recently tested, and Iriz have:
1) Proton/Lotus/Geely huge conglomerate behind it advantage
2) 100kilos advantage
3) the suspension stroke and length is CRAZY long lol. not sure on Civic, haven't tour it jacked it up before. (IINM Savagegeese may have some shots)

not sure on lighting
seats are firm but ok. Proton Iriz again, will trump the Civic seats in firmness/overall support and comfort.
*
ah ok.. test drive before FC at bintulu, the road condition not too bad but its sarawak road. the suspension is okay-ish, the car not so floating but then, i wont dare to drive this more than 100km/h if im travelling long distance, if not maybe 3-4years need change suspension once lol. im thinking of not another proton lol. no offence to all proton owner, but wanna try diff brand. Had been eyeing honda civic since FC, but new HR-V caught my eyes tho, waiting for their launch since then. i would say 90% of the time the car will be driving in Miri, maybe long weekend will travel KK or furthest bintulu once a year.

Gonna test drive civic tomorrow, will also try out the city RS hybrid engine.

no worries, i give credit when credit is due. Proton brand perception is still rubbish. P2 cars are worthless to me even though their show rooms are packed when we visit as opposed to near by Proton fly swatting only.

new HRV if new global platform and suspensions redesign/improve, maybe worth a shot.
existing HRV suspensions are trash, absolute trash. (or it could be just my expectations are misaligned for a SUV, in which you probably guessed, i'm not very fond of SUVs at all)
*
totally no P2 car, sat in the new myvi last time grab car, the suspension behind is like fark, hard like hell man. my ass so pain going thru road at shah alam only. maybe newer facelift improve i dunno. but i heard they make the suspension hard because the body got too much twist.

getting SUV because of sarawak road really CMI. i love to drive hot hatch and sedan, but then, probably a crossover is what i can get for a sedan cross SUV lol. See review macam not bad la, but then im not spirited driver anyway, and miri longest stretch of "ok-ish" road is like 1-2km only then need stop liao.

Looking at HRV pricing - 140k.....for 1.5T for a small package.

I'd rather go to Toyota Corolla cross hybrid. Slightly more narrow at the rear passenger but overall size you win. Toyota reliability also win. And a 360 cam, and blind spot monitoring. Maybe e:HEV with tax cuts make it also within competitive range, hopefully.

This is for if you really NEED SUV height - poor road conditions or ingress egress ease and elevated drive position.

I also was eagerly looking forward to HRV but I now find the price a bit difficult to swallow. Just me I guess, many people seem to think otherwise.
*
toyota corrolla and its subpar accessories, foot brake lol. no hill hold and hill descent control etc also. dunno la how often use but foot brake is since 2000s oledi car using wei. actually don like the catfish face of corrolla cross. The hybrid system is so ancient still using NiMH battery.

reviewed the car at the showroom, the car interior was kinda 10 years backward, full of hard plastic. seat, dashboard kinda so-so, aftermarket HU, maybe we paid for the reliability. Interior for me is a necessary on my car buying selection
*
and u pay for Toyota ehem UMW arrogance lol. Toyota interior really spoil mood when see. Since the previous gen altis, they design the flat like 20years ago car interior, really sucks man. then they change abit whenC-HR which similar now, also sucks the centre dash. If u say reliability, the engine is old sch engine u buying, then shouldnt already generate return? buying toyota is like paying so much royalty to UMW. To me buy car interior more important than exterior, cos car u drive ma. outside is ppl see, i don really give a fuk about what ppl see lol. More important is what u everyday see inside.

To me, i really cannot brand the foot brake, if u put at lower spec ok. but top spec wei...

But why would I want to go through all this hassle only to void my factory warranty?

I speculate that in the event of accident, there may even be case for insurance voidance...
*
i mod alot on my proton preve, and next car i wont want to mod especially touching those electronics and wiring. really give u headache later, trust me.

when wan claim recall and warranty front suspension and disc brake, they say my car u sendiri change HU, shud be no warranty. then i diao diao until proton up there email them only they give. Presumably that time they wan to revive back their image la when they launch preve.

Is it true that from today onwards car delivered can only qualify for the SST exemption provided the name of person booking is same as name the car is registered on? If yes wonder if it would affect timing of buyer that booked later if the car allocated to buyer booked earlier has reached but  order cancel last minute & dealer is unable to transfer the car booking to those booked later.
*
Yes, need same name same model same color all. Color they say maybe can change cos they will see if got ppl don wan the color maybe still can change la. But the memo actually say kenot

And SA say the queue is actually by model, not by color. Dont know la lol.

aiyo need to route all the way there lol... and FE trims are... lets just say, cost cutting lol (yes wired our dashcam and some of the trims don't fit back properly lol... only push clips or clip fittings, minimal to practically zero solid screws.
particularly the passenger side glove box, after a while (if go through uneven roads a lot may expedite this) the trim that our dashcam wire router through, will come loose lol

there's no sound but a huge ugly gap will be visible and you just have to whack the trim part back in lol
*
tat day i open my friend bought 2nd hand civic FD help him install the dashcam, suprised that most of the trim no need screwdriver lol. But apparently the plastic is of better quality. Seems like honda dont use screw for the trim until now lol .

my preve one they use the plastic plug and screw, but hard to clip back and cant click back nicely also lol.

CVT schedule is available on Honda website and your owner manual/service booklet

From my experience, only perodua an proton sa keep selling this oil filter magnet. Me being follow manual, said no to this scam.
*
Ah tat is the engine oil one magnatrap 😂 ya proton include tat in 1000km first service for my car lol. I think tat thing make abit sense but then, the filter shud be working as it is without the magnatrap anyway as long as u change filter as per scheduled.

need to check with dealer, because if customer swipe cc, dealer will have to pay merchant charges to bank on that transaction
*
Ok, i asked the SA say 10k only can swipe. Still ok la can earn so point there. Now dilemma between V or RS.. RS 18inch is too expensive to replace later, but the 17inch wheel on V is alot cheaper? Also driving at sarawak road, maybe 17inch can feel more comfortable?

Might have to give up HRV rs booking, the spec is just too bad for my liking. And lately sat in my colleague FC TC-P, feels okay the ride comfort at kuching road, so i assume current gen civic will be better.

Test driven civic fe rs, hrv V and city hatcback rs to try the ehev engine. Can say civic is better in terms of ride and comfort. Road noise also less compare hrv. Hrv feel floaty, civic more road hugging, NVH also better, engine noise much lesser also. I think for similar price civic is a better ride. But the salesman said la, hrv if u wan change the HU still possible, cos not linked to car, but civic is linked so cannot change. Might cancel hrv rs and get civic rs, waiting time 1-2month only he said. The electric powered seat is really better because can adjust the thigh support, but manual one cannot. Too bad no memory.

Honda ehev is really good to drive, but can feel la, not enuf power and engine roaring so hard if wan accelerate at 100+km/h. But then, the whole car is like so quiet if normal driving. Good car to drive if wan fuel economy and zippy driving. Possible with 1 pedal driving also, very interesting engine to drive.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Aug 14 2022, 02:38 PM)
I cannot tolerate high cars and/or bad ride and handling.
So I'm definitely bias against SUVs lol

More so coming from HRV, this new HRV chassis is based on it if not entirely the same.
Honda is not creating miracles here and high ride vehicle (HRV lol) is still a high ride vehicle.

Yes the civic FE is still low similarly to the FC.
But between high and low end of the spectrum, I'm definitely going low.
*
I have the same bias u have, cant really get used to driving at height, even older myvi also for me is considered high seating position lol.

For me civic vs hrv is like a brain and heart punya dilemma. Heart is civic, but brain say hrv is better as a overall family car? I am still single and i dont really need the riding height and space for now, and hrv v spec nvh kinda disappointing. Salesman say the hybrid might have better ride becos it is more balanced with the batt on the back, probably more rear heavy.

Should have compare price to price, but ehev is pretty fun to drive at. Still have time to think anyway.

By the way, is the brake hold switch can be always on even after off car?

Thanks for all the sharing from fellow member here. I am more to a driver guy, my friend also tell me to buy car most important is driver. else can get serena if wan real family car, just that it drive like van 😂 but my friend told me that at the back did felt abit claustrophobic due to the black top lol. Anyway i think putting my money on civic rs, but not gonna buy it soon, probably end of the year or so. Gonna work at brunei, need have a look at brunei 2nd hand market and see what kind of cheap car can get there to commute back forth.
