Cross posting from CR-V thread since Civic has this too...
What does everyone think about LKAS + ACC w/ LSF? Basically both lane keep assst enabled and also adaptive cruise control. This is my first car with this feature and so far I like it but it's a bit scary still to fully trust the car. Do you guys use it all the time on highways? What about city traffic stop and go? Any tips and tricks folks should be aware of? |

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Sep 9 2024, 07:47 PM) QUOTE(squareballs @ Sep 9 2024, 08:12 PM) Wondering if Civic FC owners who are out of warranty can file a report with KPDN instead, since that excuse won't work on them. |

QUOTE(Cavino @ Nov 6 2024, 02:51 PM) They just take the original amount and discount RM50 for both packages. Yeah that's true. Kinda weird discount, normally they want you to sign up for longer so they take more money upfront. So if you take 1 year, very good discount however you run the risk of no discount offer on the 2nd year, then it will be 149+199= RM348 for 2 years. Then again if you get a discount offer on the 2nd year, then the 2 years package is not that good. If you take 2 years package, you get peace of mind for 2nd year, no need look to see got 2nd year offer or not. |

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Nov 6 2024, 09:47 PM) I am not fully qualified to dissect this issue. But my questions remain. This time the recall follows the same root cause as identified in the US affecting 1.7M cars there: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a62570036...ng-rack-recall/, so have a bit of faith 1. Why need two updates or recalls on the same issue? - why the first time they blame improperly built steering gearbox, replaced our gearboxes with supposedly properly made ones, and now they say the worm wheel deform? 2. I can sort of understand stress and strain can deform the plastic worm wheel until the gear pitch goes out of whack and thins out the grease film. 2.1 but the solution being put more grease, can it actually last? Wouldn’t the poor meshing between the worm wheel and worm gear which are two rigid pieces be there regardless of grease fluid surrounding nearby, and still reject the coverage of grease? In other words if you have poor gear mesh, no amount of grease will solve your problem. Perhaps skeptically speaking will the grease push away anyway. So we drill down to the 3rd why, why is the worm wheel deformed in the first place? Why isn’t it being replaced with the properly made one? Or is the design + material simply unable to last the load being applied ? Indeed time will tell, but they have messed around with us too long and too much. Didn’t address the what if. What if a few months still problem. Why didn’t detect this during RnD and testing. Why design not fix? It’s like we are beta testing for civic FG. |

So weird if they choose to not replace the rack with the updated part (if it's even available??) because they're increasing cost on themselves to honor warranty for these new buyers.
