If nobody steps up at this rate, the readers may misunderstand the care and diet.

KP Raising suggies provide the first and foremost training ground for experience that is comparative to basic parenting. QUOTE(silverwineus @ Jan 30 2008, 01:27 PM) In that case, should mend the missing part to be like this..which is a more realistic version.. hahahaha.....well....for me aa...compared to toddler (1-3 years) i think suggies are more complicated. Raising suggies provide the first and foremost training ground for experience that is comparative to basic parenting. For those who are on the the road towards parenting, if you surpass in handling your suggies, you are at the state of close to 1% prepared for the greater challenge! hehehe.... well actually its really up to routine. when we've caught on with the routine, its easier. me, i love taking care of my baby niece n nephews. tiring, troublesome, but we still give them the bess.. n now i have koochee to take care of. like babies, we need to monitor their diets n all. try each food n look at signs of sickness n allergies. bring them to the docs/vets at any sign of illness or when we worry. i think its more less the same. we take care of them, love them, gain knowledge n experience while taking care of them. N we still be learning every steps of the way. so kudos to all of us.... |

I have kept my gliders anonymous because their names may sound queer, wierd..
But anyway i'm going to start first, and KP promised that hers will be next..hehe. I don't know by what ways you guys differentiate among your critters..I can tell mine apart by their coat. The male has short and sleek coat whereas the female has fuzzy or irregular length of fur coat. Both of them don't have English names.. They only know their given Chinese dialect name. The full name of the male is called XiuMengZai.. in concise accent, i call him MengZai or XiuMeng or MengMeng The meaning of the word is as follows. Xiu - little Meng - clever Zai - boy So adds up to Little Clever Boy.. The full name of the female is XiuLai.. In short, i call her XiuLai or LaiLai Xiu - little Lai - pretty or beauty So adds up to Little Beauty. Anyway these names were not given by me, it was by my mom and i quite like it as well. Now KP, yours is next, haha.. Here's a pic of MengZai on tree top. Hey, you are holding sth..what's that?GIVE ME that! ![]() BZZZzzz.. image blurred. ..You have spoiled my Kodak. ![]() This post has been edited by silverwineus: Jan 30 2008, 08:35 PM |

hello~ I'm back after a loooooooong hiatus.
Is anybody from shah alam? I've been wanting to get a partner for Wasabi, but keep postponing because there's a possibility that I might be able to further my studies overseas. I'm really afraid that Wasabi is lonely. Of course he's healthy as usual, playing and jumping all over the place, but I read that most problems in sg aren't visible until very late stages, and I really want to avoid that. So if anyone live nearby, can I bring my Wasabi to meet your sg? I think he'd like that |

If you bring your Wasabi to meet another sg for companionship, he could bond to the sg if you choose to leave them after awhile and your problem could get worse when you need to separate them.
If you think that they won't bond because you're gonna let them play together for short periods of time is also not recommended. They may end up fighting or even injuring each other because you need time to get them used to each other by the 2 cage method. Once you get them used to each other, there is a possibility of them bonding. Let him be alone for now if you can't find a companion for him. Just make sure you spend enough time with him, and he should be fine for now. If you decide to further your studies overseas, best to get him a permanent companion. |

QUOTE(broken_string @ Jan 26 2008, 07:05 PM) hi all So sorry to see that, let us know if you need any help.here is the update on my glider condition to those who wish for his health and recovery, thanks alot, appreciate it the condition gone from worse to worst i thought he is recovering as the interval of his crabbing reduce significantly however it turns out tat its getting worst, despite crabbing lesser, everytime he crab, he will chew on the wound like mad until the flesh comes off. my observation tells me tat he only chew on them when he poo / pee. he lose quite abit of blood as the fur surrounding the area is all red and its really heart breaking to see his condition and hears his screams. his condition is even worst than the pic attach as the wounded area is now at least 2mm deep and as big as a corn. the unfortunate thing is the wound is exactly or near the cloacal, tats why he feel so painful when he poo. despite this, he is still very active and his useless owner still unable to attach the collar to him properly. mayb i am not a good pet owner myself, should have jus stick to keeping hedgehog this is the first time i feel so useless in my entire 24 years as a human. i apply hydrogen peroxide to his wound adi and he is sleeping now, hopefully he stays asleep till tomolo morning so that i can bring him to the vet again to fix the collar. i hope no suggy will have to face this kinda shit in the future, reason why i continue posting this updates so tat if really so unlucky it happens, future owner will know about the progress and know wat to do best, pls fix the collar right from the start. dun wait till it become worst like mine. condition can turn bad in a short period of time. buttercup, thanks alot, unfortunately my glider dint manage to recover, however ur post keeps me going till now. appreciate it now i can only put my hope on the collar, if it fails then i will consider to put him to sleep i cant bear to see him self mutilated himself till death Cheer ! |

So if anyone live nearby, can I bring my Wasabi to meet your sg? I think he'd like that Do read and understand what Reanne has replied. It's true, it's not easy to just get a friend or playmate for your glider... A proper introduction is a must. I can't simply take my glider and show to your glider in order to let them be friends or play together, that's most likely not gonna happen... Once a glider has accepted another glider pulak, separating them will only cause stress and depression. It's more advisable to get them a permanent companion. ----- Okay peeps... I think on a Saturday would be a better choice. Afternoon 3pm would be good, if we have it at 12pm later they hungry, so after lunch would be more convenient.
Also have to appoint who would be the ppl doing the arranging and managing during the event. This post has been edited by Reanne: Jan 31 2008, 05:39 PM |

QUOTE(krynzpeaches @ Jan 31 2008, 05:33 PM) 1st is a Saturday, 2nd is a Sunday. This is not called delaying, this is "planning and preparation".Either days lah. Timing, mebbe noon or not so late eve? Yes, appx. 1 month from now. We've been delaying for quite a while lah and look what's happening... I fear for all the false info going around... Or else mid March, 15th or 16th (Sat/Sun also)... KP 1 month is way too short..that's what i think. There's no harm setting the date to be much later. First step. Choose a venue. What are the options? And dis/advatages. Basic ones: 1. Member's house - Free of charge, but public is excluded. 2. Suite (in a hotel) - cost $$ and number of participant consideration 3. shopping malls - open for public, need booking of location spot, price consideration. Step two. Consider and identify number of participants, facilites required. Step three. Then only consider date. and check price and availability. I'm no expert in organising events, and i don't claim as one. I wish that i know so that i can be a better help then. |
