I am on Windows 11 but have yet got the update.
How to get the update straight away? Without clean install.

You can download the iso from Microsoft, then just double click on it, then just run the setup exe

You'll have an option to keep all your data

Will this also need to re-install all software as well?
I don't want the hassle to re-install any software as well blink.gif

I decide clean install now as I join beta channel previously and the build number is newer than current final, even I choose opt-out but it still take sometimes to let final reach build number newer than current beta build.

Can't wait until Oct for next build and so on. 😅

Finally, I decide to clean installed and now I can confirm the Windows 11 22H2 Final build is 22621.521
This is straight installed from ISO but during installation I choose option to let it auto check update.

i also upgraded via ISO from the preview build. may do a clean install later. now deciding if i should upgrade from win10 for my main notebook and desktop. the final 22h2 is not bad and solve many of the annoyance i had with the release win11. however some still persist like the taskbar display open prog icons grouping it together and the restricted start menu - why not allow us to resize the start - so annoying when you have a big ass monitor and the start menu is cacat with a few rows biggrin.gif

Release Preview can upgrade but I at Beta build which is newer than final, so currently only have option clean install with keep data and settings. All apps need to reinstall. 😅

Start Menu I am OK now as it can reduce recommendation and I find it just look nice in 1440p in 100% scales.

I just hope it can drag the taskbar to others location. Also hope can right click application open recent doc.

currently windows 11 running on my laptop with 1080p. clean install is the best - i norm prefer that if its a major update but i might be too lazy and just live with it for 22h2 sweat.gif

If you don't have many apps and your system and internet is fast. No harm do clean install.

I just did clean install with option keep data and settings yesterday and no regret. Now everything was install back 😊
Finally they is no more wording "Preview" at Microsoft Store. 😍

updated to 22h2 22621.521 with uupdump created ISO (pre-updated with 521 patch)

but .net patch KB5017026 failed to install

as i direct use upgrade path (keep files and apps), however some thing got resetted like my win update gpe policy and driver update make ms install the old audio driver which i have to manually install audio driver again

Explorer patcher works, but some is broken. I resetted the settings and revert back to win11 style taskbar and explorer bar (preparing for next month tabs update)
If on win 10 taskbar, battery icon and wifi icon click on it will do nothing other than crash the backend
can only use win11 start menu (no more win10 style live tiles), cannot hide recommend, as ms add setting to adjust the shortcut/recommend ratio

overall some improvement but still feels like half baked for me right now

Secure boot dbx patch is copy paste from last month and affects other previous versions

I hide all of .net and driver updates. Wait for next month patch

Installed 22H2. Finally can adjust to show more pinned apps on Start. Now also can adjust volume just by putting mouse cursor on the volume icon and use mouse scroll.

Don't like the new task manager. Additional space on side and top makes task manager take up more screen space. Summary view can't make it very small like old one.

Other than that, haven't notice anything else that's new. Still doesn't have tab on file explorer.
