Microsoft forcing user to stick with Edge
Although Edge base in chrome, but I still prefer Chrome, even Firefox also better than Edge whistling.gif
Just my opinion, no offense

In my opinion, the New Microsoft Edge (base on Chromium) is freaking great. It is the best now.

Chrome is memory hunger and bad now. Firefox is yark, I only use it for older Windows like Windows XP and Windows 7 in VM for testing for fun. tongue.gif

It's not only limited to setting default browser on Windows 11.
Setting default program, like for playing music and video, had to do it one by one in file extension, unlike Windows 10 which can set it all at once under categories.

Edge performed much better on low end cpu, but it was when Edge still using the old engine, not the webkit, too bad now there's no way to use it normally.
Chrome based browser and Firefox generally require faster cpu. (read: battery hog)

And higher ram usage as well whistling.gif

Different people different opinion, already get used to Chrome, even use Chrome on my iPhone laugh.gif
As for memory hunger, yes no doubt this issue never been fixed, even though Google claimed that latest Chrome had reduced ram usage, but it still high
Nowdays I would say 16gb ram is the minimum requirement laugh.gif

Core 2 Duo E4600 with 2GB ram can run win 11?

I doubt it would be able to run Windows 10 too. With your spec, I suggest you to use Linux.

Actually it can under these condition:
1. Need a Direct 12X capable GPU
2. Will no receive further security update from Microsoft.

You need some work on bypassing TPM check and some registry entry.

To be exact, both Chrome and Edge are just fork of Chromium and shared same architecture with Chromium. Consider Chromium as "unstable beta".

No point to crack and force install the OS and run like turtle. Right?

I still use Chrome most of the time. Much lightweight a bit but the latest Edge was pretty awesome. So I use both of them. Firefox very less using them unless need to test something.

Latest Edge was better than Chrome now in term of features and capabilities.

Ofcoz on my virtual machine running on Windows 11 is only using Edge.

As usual New OS Build was release for both
  • Beta Channel - 22000.184
  • Dev Channel - 22454.1000

Dev Channel finally fixed one important bugs for me - Right Click for Single Click is fully functional now, no longer appear immediate missing issue.
