I don't think there is an available option here, those apps preinstalled will definitely stay inside the internal read-only partition, those user installed ones will be installed on the read-write partition. Now when adding an external storage, it is shifting the entire read-write partition outside to the usb.

This is my guess.

I still think Sony is terribly unwise to have designed such a small internal storage.

Got it. Yes, I agree with you terrible decision to design such a small internal storage.

Current apps will stay on internal storage. Apps installed afterwards will be automatically stored in the USB. But you can switch the location by going into each app settings. I have used a USB 3.0 pendrive to increase the storage, worked fine for a while until each app on the USB crashes whenever I open it.

Mine is the x80h with android 9 and 2gb ram. Netflix always freezes when I fast forward a dolby Atmos content or I binge watch them for a few hours. Had to unplug the power to restart the TV.

Thanks for the information! Looks like this is something I need to be alert about. So far, I’m not installing anymore apps but just in case if I want to install more. At least I know there’s a workaround though not a perfect one.

Yes but it will get stuck while powering off. The TV was very laggy and it simply gave up. I had no issues on non atmos content though. 2gb ram definitely not enough.

Just bought 65X85K to replace my previous 55 LG Oled. I have Nvidia Shield TV 2019. When I connect with my previous Oled Tv i can play Netflix in Dolby Vision or UltraHD. But when I connect Shield to to X85K, I can only see HD content. Any setting to change so that I can see Dolby Vision/UltraHD on my X85K when connect to Nvidia Shield? I really like Nvidia Shield as they have Ai Scaling feature that will make HD movie looks like 4K.
Do you guys recommend me to use X85K alone OR X85K connect to Nvidia SHield?

The difference between LG B6 and that Sony X85K is like day n night. But too bad I don't have the budget to buy another Oled. This SOny is to replace the Oled which already badly burnt in. My family watch Astro and TV3 everyday so their logo already stick permanently to the Tv screen. Plus that Oled color become very weird. Digi telco color from yellow become green. Women lipstick from red become purple rclxub.gif

About the setting, I need to change at the TV setting itself right? Then only Nvidia able to see that TV is capable to display Dolby Vision?

if watch astro and local tv then dont use oled. oled sure burn in
yes for some tvs the setting is on the tv itself not nvidia shield. google your tv and search how to turn on hdr
not sure about your tv but on samsung i need to go to setting and go turn on if i use external device playthru.
anyway if your native app is playing hdr and upscaling fine then no need to use nvidia shield unless u feel the upscaling is better.
for me i dont see any difference in my tv

Ok bro, thanks for input. Will try to fiddle around with the new tv setting. Hopefully tv upscaling is beter than Nvidia.

no worries. test the native app and test the shield. make sure they are both on the same pic/color setting. sometimes when
u plug an external device in the tv, the pic/color setting will auto change to the hdmi default.
this is usually the case for pc or xbox/ps cause the tv will turn on the game/pc mode.

Does anyone else experience this issue? I’m not a technical person but I will try to explain as much as I can.

I am using Astro Ultrabox and plugged it to HDMI 1 port. Every time after I turn off the Ultrabox and TV (put to sleep only, didn’t unplug the adapter), I turn on back both TV and Astro, the TV seems not able to detect my Astro box on HDMI 1. It is showing black screen, I will need to restart my TV and only it will reappear. I don’t think it’s Astro box issue? I just started using Astro recently so I cannot validate the root cause yet.

Just sharing. My issue with Astro Ultrabox (AU) is different. When I wake both TV & AU at the same time, no sound will come out.

After some workaround, I need to wake the TV first, press volume up/down and confirm the volume bar comes out on TV and only then I wake the AU. Still unexplained to me until this day but works for me. Maybe you can try? TV first, then AU.

My Sony TV is old. 2015 model. From some reading, it may had to do with old HDMI version on the TV and can't communicate properly with the newer HDMI version on the AU.

OK, I will try TV first before AU. Hopefully will solve the issue. thumbup.gif
