Yes I've tried it. I wouldn't say adding RS5 improves a lot but you can definitely hear sounds coming from the rear speakers
In my opinion, RS5 is not a must but SW5 is a must
I bought RS5 was because of OCD and to enable 360 Spatial Sound Mapping with A7000

Thanks buddy, I will save up for A7000 + SW5. Hoping to get a good price during sales.

What is the best deal I can expect now in January 2024 for a 55" X90L?

My 9-year old Sony is showing lines and so time to retire after many years of service. I would appreciate pointers to where in KL I can get the best deal now preferably with extended warranty for a 55" X90L.

I am so jealous right now. My cheapskate brain won't allow me to spend RM5000 on a soundbar. Although I want it badly.

Seems like Sony knew where they are standing nowadays. They couldnt fight with TCL and Samsung anymore on pricing. Miniled has gotten so much cheaper with both Samsung and TCL throwing like crazy.

Do you guys still buy extended warranty nowadays given how much TV better are getting in the past 2 years (since I bought my X90J). The money could have been enough for 20-30% of the new TV that you will buy in the future unless you are buying an OLED.

Yes, I buy extended warranty for my OLEDs (Senheng and Desa Home) and I also learned that the extension from Sony is always the cheapest.

Yes but rumours now is Sony will not release a flagship OLED this year. A95L will carry forward this year

But there will a new flagship mini LED with a totally new back-light system

Supposedly the left is X95L, middle is the prototype, right is A80L

The last time I bought a TV was back in 2017. Moving to a new place middle of 2024, and exploring options now. Also going to ditch the 5.1 AV system for a good soundbar. The wall and living space should be able to take a 75-85 inch TV, and am looking at Sony (which?) and the A7000 soundbar. So many choices when it comes to TVs now. Putting aside X95L, what is the main difference between the A80L and X90L series? No gaming requirement. Lots can happen in 6 months, but just need to short list some stuff between now and then. Thank you.
