guys..some update ... here my cpu oc result ... i still don't run stability test yet ... maybe my cpu hit the wall oredi ...

FSB = 250MHz ... running at 3.75GHz and Vcore set to 1.45V ... don't dare to up the vcore anymore ... sweat.gif

Here the 1M superpi result ...

after this i should test for ram oc according to guide given by overclockalbert ... or should run stability test first ti find the stability setting for cpu oc?

Wow.. Ur firing ur rigs up man! Good result.. 3.75Ghz.. Good result! But ur rams speed seems kinda crappy. Try change ur ratio to 3:2? Running on 5:4 were giving low bandwidth thou. Haha.. Can hit that speed with 1.45v core sounds not bad. Mine last night need to up until 1.535v then mange to maintain the stability.

I always prefer to run on run speed, 1:1 ratio! brows.gif But its hard to achieved due need to push the ram speed same as the procs.. As for me, i will always run stability test 1st. Cos if ur system can pass the stability test means its stable at that speed, thus no worry that u cannot get that speed.

By then, what program are u using for test out the stability sang? For me, i used to use Orthos! brows.gif Its will automatically detect how many thread and ur proc has and prime both of them at the same time. And also, if can, do ur priming at priority 10. To fully test out the system. Give 100% burn in.

Lol.. Google for Orthos that will be more better then SP2004 IMO.. Hm.. Its dpend on u. U might try change the ratio to 3:2 1st and see the sytem is boot able or not. If bootable then get into windows and run priming program.

By then, what is u idle and full load temp for 3.75Ghz?

use orthos for stability test. wink.gif

i would not recommend prescott vcore get more than 1.5v. but better dont get exceed 1.6v unless you go for watercooling. haha.....

FYI, dual channel can get like 5% more performance boost than normal single channel, unless you manage to push it far far away than dual channel like >200MHz. if not, i rather stay with dual channel st lower speed for cooler cpu temp. icon_rolleyes.gif

@raymond
sorry to hear that. sad.gif

the 76gt ddr2 is not performing well FYI, the slower ram limits the whole performance. but still better than 7300gt but not far. if possible get the ddr3 version. of coz the price is a bit higher.

you planning to get 1?? brows.gif

@fylon

as expected from kch market. normally is >rm20 different. even more if the rare item. doh.gif

Hi guys,i'm ok with my grandma passed away. Thanks for your concern. smile.gif Anyway,i'm now using my new HDD man. biggrin.gif So nice,just setup the things only.Busy to install softwares now.Er..the 76GT plan to get but not now...hehe.

@sang_karim,

nice result for the OC. 3.75GHz rclxms.gif

To test the stability of overclocked CPU: using prime95 stress program :

Double click on PRIME95.EXE to start the program.

Just Stress Testing (if prompted) > OK >
Options > Torture Test > Blend

The program should not give any errors.
It may be necessery to run the program 12 hours to make sure an overclocked system is stable (no program errors displayed).

If you get errors only after several hours, this is a result of slight instability because the system is running with little or no margin. It's stable enough to boot and to be moderately stressed, but as soon as the system is under enough load to go over that critical point, it will freeze. To be 100% stable, Prime95 should run 12-24 hours without any errors.

The whole point of testing is to see if you get errors or not thus testing the stability. The meaning of errors themselves is not the issue.

And here for u to run the dual instant of Prime95 :

Running a hyperthreaded CPU and wants to load it 100% instead of just 50%.

Here:

-Open the Prime console as you normally would, but don't start the torture test.

-Then go to Start button - Run.

-Click the browse button and find where you located Prime95.exe Once you find it, click Open.

- The path in the browse box will probably look like this "C:\Program Files\Prime95\Prime95.exe"

- Put your cursor at the end of that text line after the ...exe"

- Press the space key once and then type -A1 (dash A one)
"C:\Program Files\Prime95\Prime95.exe" -A1

- Press the OK button.

You now have two Prime Consoles

Now before you begin the tourture test, go to Options - CPU and in the two boxes for amount of memory used, take whatever number shows in there now and divide it in half, and then enter the new halved number in both boxes. Save and exit the options box. Do the same thing for the other Prime console. Failing to do this will result in the chewing up of your paging file (I know cuz I just tried LOL )

Now run Torutre Test on both consoles.....

You're now using 100% CPU Utilization on an HT CPU.

**All this from XS forums.

for your system, why i saw u just running on single channel? had u install the ram in the correct way? try to install
them in the ram slot which have the same colour.

as for the FSB:Dram ratio setting, u might stick with 5:4 ratio.

FSB : Dram
5 : 4
250 : 200

if

FSB : Dram
3 : 2
250 : 166

you will have more crapy bandwidth on your system. Actually higher bandwidth is better for your
P4 system. just try to stick at 5:4 and try to tighten your rams timing as your ram is running at default
frequency now @DDR400 so u can set the timing to 3-3-3-8 ( is this the default timing for yr KVR ram??)

as for the Vcore , what is your default Vcore as intel recomended???
as in the CPU_Z screeny, i saw u have a pretty good temp, 40C. just try to run prime95 to see weather your system really stable.
u need time to tweak more on the Vcore and timing (IIRC)...i was once a P4 HT fanboys...... biggrin.gif

happy OC-ing......

xD... Im out dude. Let sang carry the mission forward. laugh.gif Yea.. He did a good job thou. Can hit that speed, might becos he was running on 3:2 thats why can push higher. As for me, i used to aim for PERFECT. 1:1 ratio, tightest timing with the fastest speed! brows.gif Thats what im request from my rigs!

By then, 1.5v will be the max vcore for Prescott core. Dont over that line..

oredi download orthos and try running it at 250FSB but windows kindda stuck within1 minute sweat.gif .. then lower the fsb to 249 and still the same .. lastly set it at 245FSB and running it till 22 minutes with no problem ... stop it to post it here... laugh.gif .. full load temp bout 49C and idle around 38-39C .. seems ok to me ... will try the 3:2 ratio later ...

@kabukiawie
1.475 still ok aaa? hehe ... will try it later la bro .. wanna try that 3:2 divider first ... brows.gif

@sang_karim,

try to post some of your dual instant prime95 screenshot to gather
with CPU_Z screeny for us.

now u are setting 1.45V for Vcore right?
and fsb to 245Mhz so u r running 245X4 =980Mhz not bad.

as for the temp, 49C under full load....... shocking.gif are u using water cooling setup? or u r in AirCond room?
that was a really nice temp that a prescott can do. mind to tell your cooling method?

DO u have DMM? try to measure it out at the molex connector. yelloe to + ve and black to -ve end.
if the voltage from DMM is 12V, then something must be wrong with yr sensor chip or the mobo bios errror.

go check the actual 12V with DMM 1st, then u know. biggrin.gif
