High chances only the PSU exploded and most of the stuffs are still intact
Heck, I had 1 exploded Antec Truepower 430W on me man

B4 it actually explodes, it shuts off your PC first then only KABOOM sound and super effects come out and of course the superb burnt smell XD

So no need to worry, I kena b4 just replace PSU unless you are freaking unlucky XD

and 1 more thing I gotta say, +12V rail dropped till 1.8x V is still OKAY. The rule is +-5% of any rails. Lower or higher than that, pose a risk...

My condolences to your PSU, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise... You get a new AMD rig instead and learn much more on the long run, anyway.

The last thing on our minds when we overclock is frying the components, but when it does happen you'll be much more cautious next time.

Yea yea.. Almost the same scenario to what u had mentioned just now. I just shock when the screen were freeze and game hang. Then heard some sounds effect and then as u says super effect the "bungai api" pop out and then comes with the superb smell.. I do see some lighting pop out.

As for my +12v.. it was never goes beyond 12v even in idle.. Thats what worried me at 1st. And also for the +3.3v were almost near 3.5v... Weird scenario happen before the PSU exploded.

Haha.. Finally get back to live!! Yea.. Ur right shinjite, just the power supply is dead. Changed a normal chapalang PSU now. And runing fine. Ofcause.. Now running at stock speed! No OC life for this two weeks.. But atleast save back some $$..

Congratulations man,only the PSU died. But you said that your +3.3v was almost near 2.5v...danger leh... So when is your new PSU coming?Hehe,almost end of the month already.

Hm.. Was browsing bulk sales now.. Didnt see anybody selling it. Most of them who bringing Silverstone stuff were was ST400 was out of stock.. Might thinking of grabbing CM PSU.. Is CM PSU trustable? Any other reliable PSU recommend? Wander hows the Gigabyte Odin power perform.

What's your budget for new PSU ? Gigabyte Odin....don't know how is it.CM PSU need to get the true power one....CM extreme not so good for o/c.

Hm.. Max will be around RM250? Haha.. Was hunting for good and reliable PSU now. Else same thing happen agian thou. My current chapalang PSU cant supply enough juice to my rigs. I gota take off some of my fans, 2x cd room and floopy in order to have enough power source to my rigs. Before i take off some of the accessories, my HDD keep got sounds. Like power off..

Guess no gaming and other etcs beside surfing at the moment.


Edit: By then guys, can roughly help me estimate the resell price for my system? Just wanted to know the value of this old sch at the moment.

Motherboard: Asus P4P800 Deluxe (Can Hit RM250?)
Processor: P4 3.0E Ghz (RM200 Maybe?)
RAM: 2x TCCC & 2x Hynix D43 (Couldnt figure a price for it, maybe rm50 per stick?)
GC: GeXcube Radeon 9800PRO (Maybe around RM200?)

hi guys, i oc my mobo dis afternoon to 3.3Ghz, but didnt run finish the sp2004 to check for stability, run it for one hour then stop it coz wanna use the com, then just realize that my on stock HSF has a rpm of 5.2k, so i change bec my com bec to normal at 3.0Ghz
didnt wan the same thing happen to my rig, as wat have happen to fylon, btw fylon sorry to hear bout ur psu, if u wan to buy a psu, i think there is a model Acbel 470W wif APC selling at out rm270 lar, just giving a hand on shopping for ur psu, if u wanna sell ur whole system, do post in this thread, im interested

Lol.. My mama board still consider one of the best OC tools for S478 eh. Dont plan wanna sell it that easily since the resell value wasnt that good. Old already.. Grandma generation better take good care of it.

hmm... you wanna migrate? the amd spec you mentioned very sweet indeed. the mobo is it ta690g am2?? i roughly calculate the new rig you mention, of coz la, you know price at kuching is higher.

cpu 200+-, mobo 200+-, ram2gb 250+, psu truepower 200+ total = somewhere around 1k.

dont forget you are using the onboard vga, if add another gc, 300+- for lower end 8 series card.

some parts are recycled from your 478 rig like hdd, optical drive etc.

if you can sold all the 478 parts at the price you mentioned, add another 300 will get you a nice x2 rig.

Haha..Yup.. Its Biostar TA690G.. The selling price for this mobo at my work place is around RM290. But i can get cheaper. Just im not so sure about AMD platforms at the moment might need to learn it before i migrate.

By then, now no $$ wanna migrate as well.. Since my current rigs serve me well.. Might be a bit early to migrate. Havent enough with S478.. Aming for 4.01Ghz.. Smoke away bro Shawty record.

Hm.. The onboard vga for TA690 is using X1250 should me enough for mid end gaming peep like me.. By then i got no time for gaming also.. Like now, OC just for video encoding and surfing.

Lol.. At least better then Intel set thou. I count before. For intel, atleast need to have 1.2k budget before can get it. Intel procs and mobo are far more expensive than AMD thou. A mid end OC board already cost around 300-400.. Then procs again.. Even the lowest speed DC E2140 1.6Gh almost same price as X2 3800+ liao..

Hi fylon,my personal opinion is E2140 almost same cost with X3800,Intel mid-end mobo around Rm300+ like that,but the o/cbility is better than the X3800. On stock both of them may be par on performance,after o/c is another story already. :lol..you and kabukiawie are from Kuching...

i totally agreed with you, with that kind of money, i rather keep more and get a better brand new rig. new x2 rig system cost something around 1.2k+- depend on the specs. at 1.5k+ can get a mid range gc like 8600gt

Lol.. If wanna compare o/c ability. I think E2160 will perform better than E2140 instead. That beast can hit over 100% o/c thou. By then, both intel and amd got their own good thou. Im just wander hows amd HTT works if compare with intel HT. Since HTT is directly affect the overall system thou.

Lol.. Discussion ma.. Comparing which is better lo now.. Hm.. I knew that E2160 is a o/c gem thou. Haha.. Ppl was calling it as a beast! Can hit almost 100% o/c.. And the performance not lost to E6600 if im not mistaken. Just lacking of the cache memory and FSB are rated at 800mhz only. Otherwise, overall is a good proc.

XD... Anyways, P4 not bad too.. Can stay for almost 5yrs and still have alot of supporter.
