AFAIK, the problem for OCing too high will be your Windows corrupted only, thats all for HDD

Hard drives damages are more related to the +12V supplied by your PSU or probably you got a lemon HDD to begin with

Oh,like that this is related to the PSU already.Depends on the PSU and see can provide stable voltage to HDD or not.

Wow.. Just back from tight working schedule! biggrin.gif Hm.. SATA HDD having problems with OC @ at high speed? That i ever heard before but not sure will the same thing happen to old school's like us! blink.gif Nvm.. Will test it out when i got my new WD 250G SATAII on hand and give some feed back according to this issue! icon_rolleyes.gif Will gona use this HDD as my primary drive. biggrin.gif

Btw, i found that my current ram can been stress under 250mhz speed with loosen timing without any problem. Tested with MemTest Pro edition and stress the ram for more then 6hrs.. But procs will become voltage hunger after go beyond 3.7Ghz. shocking.gif Tested with up my vcore 1.535v vcore then i can prime peacefully @ FSB1000 which is 3.75Ghz. By then my NB hit danger line.. Reached 48'c during priming.. sweat.gif

By then.. Tested all this in 1:1 ratio.. tongue.gif For sure i dont want to lost my memory bandwidth by lower down the ratio and hit speed! whistling.gif

I'm having the same 'voltage hunger' problem like you. Running at 250FSB needs a lot of voltage, about 1.45v for me, and it certainly isn't good when the heat shoots up to 70C. I think it's my cooling and PSU causing the overclocking block, with only 350W to its name laugh.gif

getting at 3.75GHz you should get a better fps running that movie. tongue.gif

@colinwong89
you really need a better hfs, its not healthy having that high temp for long run.
