looks like my Purevideo aint working since my cpu utilization is almost 100% all the time.and yeah its a little choppy.im guessing 10-15fps. sad.gif

if 53% to 59%, you're definitely using ffdshow libavcodec h264 decoder which is only single threaded
Yours definitely choking like mad wink.gif

Since fylon has already tested, even with his 3.67Ghz Prescott, there are some scenes can drop till 18 fps range....so in the end, our machine still can't cope with this video playback. We need a 3.8Ghz-4Ghz P4 to test tongue.gif

I think non of us now are on the speed, but still ok if only some scenes drop to 18fps.THose CPU utilised 98-100% CPU usage are using 2 threads?Example the Media Player Classic?

hmm...... its really cpu hungry movie. both threads are almost 100% when run. the lowest fps for mine is also something like 18+. i have try running at stock cpu and its chocking all the way......

Oh i see that means the decoder can utilize the HyperThreading. The decoder which utilize 2 threads seems like no better than the one using 1 thread only.Which one will giving better video play back?

I think for those who are owning an X1950pro AGP card will be having benefits on playing this video. The card itself has the decoder of h.264 .

Trust me, u go and test with ffdshow's h264 decoder and report back to me and see which 1 is better, you will never use it again for this kinda video wink.gif

The advantage is lower CPU usage but the end results we still dunno. As pengster tested with PureVideo, his 2.7Ghz still 100% usage.

This video is full 1080p h264 and the settings and bitrate are high (High profile), that is why you need a very fast single core or a dual core to play it back smoothly at 23.976fps real time.

You can pick either 1 RAM to o/c. But this is still depends on the whole system configuration.Hyper-X chipset maybe vary need to check and see.Crucial one i not sure hwat type of chipset they are using.Regarding your GC,is consider good in AGP already,at least much bettere than my 9550. wink.gif
