Hello Furparents

I would like to ask an advice concerning cat on heat (female). My cat already spayed last year but some how she still exhibit sign of on heat

- kept on calling (meowing non-stop)
- rolling2 on the floor
- licking the private parts
- lift up the body to position

already consult with one of the vet and they can't find whats wrong with her..

is there any alternative? she only started to call out late at night until morning and it quite loud.

u can ask the vet who did the operation, did they fully remove the reproductive organ?

at wht age the cat spayed? previously experienced heat cycle?
or gave birth before?

recently i did sent to my current vet clinic to check on her, they did operate and confirm there isn't any reproductive organ left

the previous vet clinic sent for operation haven't check on them yet as they just recently re-open after renovation.

i spayed her when she 5 years old although she did had gave birth before when 4 years old (during 1st MCO).
additional note : I did spayed operation when she was still on heat.. not sure if this is the reason.

now already 6 years old

There was a stray cat came over to my place (kampung house) years ago so I just let her stay.
Now there's even more of them.

Never caged those cats, just let them roam freely outdoor.
But because it's kampung area there always the occurrence of them gone missing, ate by snake (REALLY), fight with other strays, etc
The grown up ones aren't a problem, it's the small kittens - they just loves to crawl into car engines.

I just made a 2' x 5' x 2.5' height decently large cage but obviously none of them likes being in a cage.
Decide to just DIY as those ready made products are freaking tiny for their price.
Is there method to make them want to stay in cage, or at least not resisting it that much?
Is there somekind of heating product that don't require electricity to put inside cage? They loves to get into/onto vehicles becuase of the residue heat after all.

I bought a pure breed BSH last month.

but my 3 adult cats don't like her. tried many ways online. slow introduce, keep carrier training close to each other, play together, and feed together.

whenever my eyes are not on them, one of the adult cats start growling at her, then the other 2 will also join.
So now I can only leave her in 1 of the room by herself.

it has been 3 weeks since, any ideas or ways you guys tried before that works?

This is new. I read you spayed her at 5 years old. Probably it become a habit to her because you spayed her a bit late. Usually we spayed them at younger age. Did she spray urine as well?

Or maybe she have dementia or some kind mental illness.

He is showing dominance to another male cat. Female do the same to another female. Not all cats show this behavior though.

So I watched a video on single kitten syndrome and realized this is what is happening to my cat who just turned 1 year old recently. He bites a lot and plays rough. (We found him when he was 1 month old only has some socialization with another kitten until 3 months or so only)

Is it still okay to adopt a kitten and can this lessen the single kitten syndrome in my 1 year old cat?
*
Just an update. I have adopted a 9-10 month old female cat from one of the rescuers. Rescuer said the cat is quiet but later I found out the cat was always kept in a cage for 1 month already laugh.gif laugh.gif

Will be receiving the cat next month. Hopefully, the new cat can socialise and play together with my 1 year old male cat.

Also, I was watching some videos, so I have to dedicate a special room for the new cat. I will prepare a separate food bowl and litter box. Hopefully the cat is comfortable enough for the first few days then I can start introducing the male cat's scent to the new cat. Overall, usually how long does it take for a new cat to fully adapt to the new surrounding and to befriend the existing cat?

My current cat should have no issues as he is very friendly to any cat or any human - super sociable biggrin.gif

It's better to have companion, different sex preferably. They can teman each other when you not available. I have 12 cats. Not worried leaving them alone when I go vacation/long period of times, since they got companions. Only problem is too much shits when return home

Same case with my 7 cats. Roaming freely in and out of our house. The have their own door to get in and out. The cat litter can 'overflow' if left them alone for 4-5 days.  rclxub.gif

I feed my cat wet food.

But I think I can compromise by giving the cats dried food to use with the auto food dispenser. Water is no issue too.

But what about the litter box? Buy extra litter boxes?

If it works, might be able to save a lot of money as pet hotels are pricey! Like RM70-80/night for a decently large room.

As for the litter box. I have 5 large litter boxes in my house's toilet. That toilet is dedicated for cat's toilet, off limit to human use. I clean them on daily basis. My cats' hates 'dirty' litter box. whistling.gif (I'm a hooman cat slave rclxub.gif )

I did install a ventilator, sucking toilet 'fume' straight to outside of the house. Very minimal smell in the house. thumbsup.gif

Do you have someone coming to check on your cats when you are away? Worried the auto feeder may not work, water fountain toppled over, cats got injured and bleeding, etc?

Nope, just rely on my 5 CCTVs whistling.gif

As for autofeeder, just use gravity based auto feeder. Zero failure. thumbsup.gif And I don't use water fountain, just a big bowl of water (bottom heavy design). Too heavy to be topled by my notty cats rclxs0.gif

If something wrong, then I'll ask my friend / neighbour to have a look. So far all good. sweat.gif

How often should I bathe an adult cat?

Right now I just apply spot-on treatment (Advocate). Should I also give them baths?

Any cat shampoo to recommend?

Why would you? Cat is a clean freak. They spend most of their time grooming themselves. whistling.gif

Oh okay. So once per month spot on flea treatment is enough? No need any other maintenance for their fur, right?
