Read through all 32 pages in 3 hours (including the posts, videos, specs etc)

I am using Markus now but the seat is cracked/tear (changed the seat once, the new one didn't last more than 2 yrs)

My new purchase, main requirement is to be fully mesh (back and bottom), ergonomic and wide (like Markus: so I can sit with my legs up)

Personally I am thinking of the following model (all seems wide enough, have mesh, "ergonomic enough"):
1) CG700 Alterseat
-> no review! why? -i think this one cost wise is ideal, has most of what i looking for. (not sure if the fix reclining is an issue or not for me and if the lumbar thingy is relatively good compare to others below)
2) ErgoPro Evis
-> seems pricy relative to other competitors here.
3) ErgoHuman AMOffice
-> this one seems like mixed review, so I can't be certain about this
4) Wau Merryfair
-> looks ok, just not sure about the plasticky parts.

I wouldn't mind spending more for Herman Miller but I don't think it is necessary. Also note that it is interesting that no reviews on CG700 Alterseat and Takeaseat chairs

Another Q: how many of you bought RM1k+ chair without testing it first? My dilemma now is whether to wait to test the above chairs before buying them (seems like a smart thing to do considering the price)
Any comments, ie what other considerations: warranties, personal xp etc?

Thanks!

mesh bottom would hv the metal frame at the sides, IMO would not be nice to sit with legs up/cross legs

No issue, no ngek ngek sound also.

hjh87 I received my chair already. Ordered on Monday and received on Wednesday.

I bought from the authorised dealer - Trax Furniture. They came with their own fleet after all, not Gdex.

The chair is amazing, the quality is really good and the mesh quality is solid and extremely comfortable. It doesn’t bite into your skin nor scrap on your skin to cause discomfort.

However, within one hour of receiving the chair, I realised that the tilt mechanism cannot recline. I read through manuals and guide and etc, still unable to solve it. So I contacted their WhatsApp number. The service person tried to solve my problems but after some hoo haa, they managed to arrange a guy to come and inspect within the same day. And true enough, it was a faulty unit. He opened up the box and all to inspect, there was no issues with the mechanics, but the chair just won’t tilt and stuck in the tilt forward position. Finally Trax decided to do 1 on 1 exchange for me, but gotta wait until next week.

Despite my disappointment, I am so fucking glad that I didn’t decide to purchase from resellers from Shopee or Carousel and save on the RM1K. Can you imagine if this random thing happens? I don’t know how the hell im going to claim warranty or to get it exchanged! While I believe issues like mine happen far and in between, and in my case I got very unlucky? But still, just imagine if the kind of headaches that I would have to go through….

So right now I’m sitting on the faulty chair, patiently waiting for the new unit to come. I hope Trax Furniture honours their words. Since they confirmed it via their WhatsApp number that they will arrange an exchange, and it’ will be another new unit.

That’s all. Haha! sweat.gif

Note: I still don’t understand why I have to wait until next week though. Boo.

Wow ! You pulled the trigger on the Aeron. Congrats! Do you feel it’s worth the price? What made you decide Aeron instead of let’s say the Leap ?

Simple, cause mesh seat.

I think it’s worth the price? But I believe Steelcase Gesture would be equally good and more cost saving, only downside is that I read that it’s a super warm chair. I didn’t like Leap design myself and not mesh seat will be a no no.

I have made my comments below on the chair, can refer to the my old post as quoted.
It's more suitable for taller people and my size is small.
I have since passed it to my brother who is 180CM tall. It's very comfortable for him.
I will definitely miss the legrest when i watch movies at night from my PC screen.
But now that I have an ipad i usually lie on the bed and watch from the tablet lately, so i decided to screw it and upgrade again!

Good to hear that they will do a 1 to 1 exchange. But funny that, they did not check the unit out first before deliver to you. Sound like planning to sell lemon unit, and hope customer do not notice and accepted the chair as it is.

Nevertheless do enjoy the "infamous" chair brows.gif , HM does not even need to do any marketing for it. Just like how Toyota Hilux branding work from middle east biggrin.gif

I think they ship it as it is. The box is never opened until I did. Cause HM ships the chair fully assembled one.
This type of mechanism problem cannot run one la. I don’t think they knew about it. It’s too freaking obvious and basic mechanism to actually try to con customers. Also their company obviously aims for high paying customers, so they do need to maintain certain reputations.

True, anyway did you enquire about the headrest? As it will be easier and quicker to order it directly from them.

They don’t sell. I asked before. This one I ordered from another Carousell seller. Will come next week or so.

But the chair also will have to wait until next week only can exchange, cause they have limited manpower. Oh well.

Cool, plan to pay them a visit and try out the chairs before placing order.

Hi, I am currently looking for recommendation for chair.
Currently using random shopee RM200+ chair which I regretted. Makes my butt and backpain.
Since I am sitting at home infront of my pc for more than 12 + hours everyday, I need some advice.

I had done some research but I still need advice is Ikea Markus really that good ? I saw a lot good comment and also a lot bad comment.

Currently I am looking at Ikea Markus (Fabric) and also Tomaz chair ( they looks good but I got no chance to test it out)

I am around 84 kg and 184 cm height, I am not sure if the Ikea markus armrest can support me or not as I heard a lot ppl said the armrest is not really good. Other than that everything seems fine.

I just want a good comfortable chair which can support my back, head and lean 90 degree is enough. Budget around 600 - 700 ?

I may be mistaken, and please correct me if I am, but I recall that the warranty starts ticking as soon as the chair is taken out of the box, so that would be a reason for them not to inspect the chair before sending it out from storage. That was the reason given to me at Trax when I asked if I could buy a showroom unit. They said it's not for sale, and the warranty would be shorter because it's already out of the box. I wanted to take one home as soon as I sat on it, hahaha. 🤣
