i am considering the following three models:

1) Amoffice - Fennel Mesh Chair Highback - RM712
https://shopee.com.my/AM-Office-Fennel-Mesh...7639.3432016561

2) Alterseat - DT330 Prime - RM699
https://www.alterseat.com/products/dt-330

3) Merryfair - Anggun - RM660
https://merryfairstore.com/product/1/anggun

anyone can suggest me which one to go for?

thanks.

I do have my qualms against AMOffice due to its horrible after-sales service and rude staffs.
Otherwise all of them look almost similar. should be ok? Unless you get to try?
Or you can visit Ikea to check out their chairs from the similar price range.

Personally I use Ikea Markus, along with many forumers here:

https://www.ikea.com/my/en/p/markus-office-...-grey-50261151/

Which I concluded to be pretty good value for money at a lower budget(RM499 for the fabric version).

My criteria included:
1. Need headrest
2. Can lean back and lock (Markus leans at about 60 degrees I think)
3. Fabric (Important if your location only use fan and not aircond)

Tips:
1. Ergo wise, Markus is satisfactory la. You want more ergo assurance can eye for Herman Miller(+$$). Someone else can advise if AmOffice is good on ergo or not.
2. If want full lean back can eye for gaming chair, some can lean up to 180 degrees.
3. You may consider leather if you use in aircond room and you're prepared to maintain the leather(not sure how, sapu minyak or something to prevent flaking?)
4. Fabric chair maintenance involves vacuuming and wiping with wet cloth.
5. More often than not, you should skip those less reputable China chairs under RM300. I've yet to see one which could potentially look like it's comfortable, sturdy and long-lasting. Typically the wheels will pecah first. Study the customer reviews.
6. If you ever are able, do leave a thorough and detailed review of your purchased chair for the benefit of other people who are looking for office chairs. We were once in their shoes hoping for the same enlightenment. smile.gif
Something better than "terima kasih terima kasih terima kasih terima kasih" or "selamat diterima belum try lagi. pape seller bagus".
*
I am also using Markus, until I changed to a chair from AMOffice and got a lot of issues. And now back to Markus for now.

I can vouch for above comments. For a budget chair, I think Markus is pretty solid, it's an all-rounder.
The lumbar support might not suit everyone's body cause it's not adjustable. The head cushion is just a nice addition, however it's a large chair so for me, as a woman, it overshadows me and i found myself with no support on my neck. But not much of an issue really.

But overall, the quality is good, sturdy and something you would expect from a RM500 chair.

I won’t ever buy an ikea office chair, not for something that i’ll be sitting on for endless hours on a daily basis, it’s an investment on your self, your health and ergonomics.

I always laugh at young people(my peers) who say why so young need this and that, when they fail to realise the internal damage is done, just they’re not feeling it yet.

Anyway, i got a herman miller chair for 4-5k, not bothered to remember the model name, but it’s heavy as shit, with high quality mesh back and some really breathable solid feeling cushion as seat, upgraded the wheels with “roller-blade” style wheel so i can roll from my working area to dry kitchen then toilet at lightspeed
*
Well, not everyone can afford a Rm4-5K chair outright. it's good for you that you can.
Everyone gotta start somewhere.

This is a pretty new product i think. I didn't it before when I was looking for chairs.
I like how it has more adjust-ability but I suggest that you visit Ikea to try it out yourself to know for sure.

I think this is a very interesting read. Gives me a different perspectives about Gaming chairs, I always thought that they are pretty bad ergonomically but it doesn't seem so!
It is as good as it gets, of course incomparable with the true ergonomical chair but still pretty good!

I have and always recommend steelcase chairs

Steelcase Leap - 2.5k~ ish.
Steelcase Think - 2k~ish

Price may change

I have sat extensively on both chair for long hours due to WFH. They are very comfortable and provide good support.
Material quality is awesome. I have the Leap for 2.5 years and it is still like new.

I just got myself the steelcase series 2 for rm1800(proudly made in puchong) after a 2 months waiting period (initially im going to order the Leap as it's supremely comfortable, but that doesn't have a mesh back and I don't like how the Think looks like), replacing my 6 months old Marcus (I didn't get any discomfort sitting on the Marcus for > 10 hours though)
Marcus's mesh back has more give but Series2 has got a lot more adjustments to make sure my lumbar area is always supported
Marcus' seat cushion feels softer and plushier compared to Steelcase's

Side note: anyone looking for a 6months old fabric Marcus can PM me smile.gif
*
Where did you all get your Steelcase? Can I have the shop name or GPS please?
I would like to go and try. Am hunting for a good chair after the really horrible experience I have with a certain shop.
Don't they get hot since they are not really mesh? I find fully mesh one really comfortable I think.

Am looking these chairs also from Evis.com.my
Any reviews or comments? But crazy expensive.

zenpro has a showroom in kelana jaya, their factory's in sg buloh
I bought the series 2 without trying it on though, but I read the review that it's quite similar to the Think (of which I've tested and liked), I don't turn on aircond at home a lot so I decided to forgo the Leap
good thing about steelcase is if you get the made in Malaysia one, you can customize the color combination without adding too much onto the lead time

if you really wanted to indulge, pay XTRA mid valley a visit and try on their Okamura Contessa 2, the seat cushion is supremely comfortable

I splurge on a better chair hoping that it could save me some trips to the Chiro, if it saves me a few trips to the Chiro the chair essentially paid for itself already smile.gif
*
The Okamura looks nice but no headrest. sad.gif And it doesn't seem to be so adjustable from what I can see from the website.
WOW! They can even customise steelcase? I should just go to their S.Buloh factory maybe. So you just called them and ordered online or something?

Errr.. nope. I don't see why I would go and try that model cause what I want from a chair is different. xD
But everyone's body is different, you should try if you could to see if it's comfortable for you.

Huh, I just realised Steelcase Leap cannot be tilted back based on the YT videos I saw, seems limited tilt. Can anyone confirm? That's out of my choice already then. doh.gif

Contessa II has headrest as an option
https://www.xtrafurniture.com/shop/product/...sa-black-frame/

not sure if you can go straight to zenpro's factory, they're made by steelcase Malaysia and not by zenpro.
zenpro themselves sells other types of office furniture, steelcase is part of their portfolio, go to their kelana jaya showroom and test the chair.

also if you go to Evis, get their footrest, it's quite worth it if you can get it at the promo price
*
You try it Evis before?
The footrest is attached to the chair? I don't want separate units.

Over the weekend i went to test this chair, really comfortable since everything is adjustable to suit your body.
Like you advised, i added the legrest cause I do watch shows while sitting on an office chair so having that option is going to be very comfortable.
Only issue is that they don't have stock for black right now and have to wait for 2~3 weeks. third week of January they said. cry.gif

So my chair arrived. Evis ErgoPro.

Pros:
- Love the additional legrest, can cross my legs or just relax on the chair. however you have to pay RM300 extra for it.
- Free delivery and installation, services are good and quick delivery, easy to communicate with. Hopefully after sales services will be as good as well
- Like that everything is adjustable and the mesh seems sturdy and strong, really hope can last instead of sagging issues later
- Built seems solid overall, I could nitpick certain things but overall still quite satisfied with the products.
- Love that I can adjust the lumbar support tension and height. So that it doesn't seem obtrusive towards my back, and also since it's cushioned, it's pretty comfortable.

Cons:
- Quite overpriced I feel. hmm.gif I think this chair together with the leg rest should be priced at about RM1800, I think that would be fair for its quality. Evis Products are kinda expensive. If their after sales services are really good then I got nothing else to say but at the moment I do feel that it's slightly overpriced.
- The armrest adjustable height is kinda too high. Unless you are a very tall person with a longer body, I can't rest my arms at 90 degrees even when i adjust the armrest at its lowest. (I'm about 157CM) But that's because of my body structure, might suit others better. And if you are around my height, and with the standard desk height, I would safely say that you will definitely need a foot rest (got mine from Ikea long time ago).

Hi all, just want to share - early December, I was deciding between an IKEA Markus vs Alterseat which was supposedly just as good and comfortable. I already have one Markus but the price different is about RM 250 so I thought, why not...

I bought the Alterseat and have been using it for a month now. Unfortunately, I wish I hadn't. It's not the most optimum chair, to be honest.

You can't adjust the back, only the height, and I'm not sure what human model they used but the result is that you can't sit flush and work normally. Also the mesh has a slight give as the backbone of the chair is pretty low, so its ergonomic support is questionable.

Another point is the material of the seat isn't actually comfortable despite being touted as smooth and silky. I had to layer it with a flat cushion, otherwise it feels prickly. Yeah, I'm not a happy camper considering I spent RM 330.

It's not a terrible chair ... but the long story short is, if I could re-do my decision, I'd buy the Markus again.

Which model did you buy from Alterseat?

Problem with the markus is , my height is about 162.

I'm too short for it  cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

You can go and try it.
I think the depth of seat is too much, causing my legs to hang in the air like that. Because you are suppose to have a space between your knee and the seat when you sit with the knees bend of course.

Or else have to look for other chairs within the same budget. A lot of chairs can adjust depth of seat @ RM400~RM500 from my brief scan through Lazada/Shopee.

The headrest is like no headrest for me  , my head is halfway hanging on the headrest .

Also my legs are hanging in the air.

Thing is about those lazada or shopee it's either hit or miss , I don't wanna spend 400 RM just to do a trial and see if it fits.

Hoping I can get a better recommendation here
*
Its true. I bought PoFit from AMOffice through Shopee and it was the worst decision ever, causing even more back aches with all the gimmicks.
Honestly the only way to know if the chair suits you or not is to go and try yourself. There are no other choices really. Look for those shops that have physical stores that allow you to test.
