QUOTE(imbibug @ Mar 21 2023, 05:31 PM) I asked before because I saw a few products was sold by both stores for the same price, and they said the companies are the same. Yeah I suspected as much but somehow Ooree has better ratings than OK Globe. So I went for the former instead. Haha.

Finally arrived after 3 weeks of order placed. Total damage RM579.72, based on confirmation from oversea forum, it was Amazon mistakenly advertised the wrong price, good thing was they still honor the orders placed by consumers.

Sometimes too good to be true deals are just... too good to be true. Even if it looks genuine. Worse when you might not have buyers protection, and Amazon are quite the bottom of that. https://www.techspot.com/news/98002-watch-o...sds-priced.htmlhttps://www.guru3d.com/news-story/fake-sams...eit-drives.html

Hello, i just wanted to ask, is the KC3000 still regarded as a decent buy for PCIe 4.0 drives?
I need a 2TB NVME drive pronto, and i found one for 684 on Lazada (678.45 after vouchers and delivery).
I know i could get cheaper from overseas storefronts but i'd rather deal with local stores if possible for warranty purposes.

More than decent lol, it's one of the best performing pcie 4 if you gonna frequently copy huge files to it, good to slap in a heatsink (if your mobo's M.2 slot doesn't hv one)

QUOTE(PJng @ Mar 27 2023, 11:25 PM) look at that operating temperature. 700c?! edit: there are good uses for work purposes. well, at least we have an option if we really need that kind of speed. This post has been edited by horns: Mar 28 2023, 09:41 AM

QUOTE(solarmystic @ Mar 25 2023, 11:26 PM) Hello, i just wanted to ask, is the KC3000 still regarded as a decent buy for PCIe 4.0 drives? ... Just a followup post, the drive I ordered from Lazada (THUNDERMATCH) arrived today after only 2 days wait time. Immediately put it to work using a couple of benchmarks like CrystalDiskMark 8 and ATTO. Quite satisfied with the numbers even though they are slightly below stated maximums, and i do have this placed in the 2nd PCI 4.0 NVME slot in my system, the lanes are provided by the chipset and not directly from the CPU. (1st slot already occupied by an ADATA SX8200 Pro and i couldn't be arsed to swap the drives out since i'd have to remove the gigantic CPU cooler which is in the way.) The next thing to do will be to move around 1.5TB worth of games onto the drive from a 8TB spinner i am emptying to make room for more media which should be a fun test of sustained writes to see if it throttles or not. Cool mini review. Look forward to seeing if u experience any thermal throttling. U using a heatsink on the drive?

QUOTE(socratesman @ Mar 29 2023, 08:47 AM) Cool mini review. Look forward to seeing if u experience any thermal throttling. U using a heatsink on the drive? Moving those games took around 2 hours and was ultimately limited by the 7200RPM spinner's read speed of around 200-250 MB/s (it is a 8TB Seagate Skyhawk AI CCTV drive that i repurposed for my desktop lol, it works well enough for what it is). No heatsink except the provided thin low profile graphene/aluminum one, and it didn't throttle at all - it kept a relatively cool 48 C during entire period, but i guess that is mainly due to the low speed write operation during the copy process. I'd probably have to do a large (like a 100 GB or more) sequential file nvme to nvme drive copy to get it throttle. This post has been edited by solarmystic: Mar 30 2023, 12:36 AM

Haih....just wished Transcend would make a 4TB version of MTE220S. Would be the perfect M.2-based TLC storage drive for media & stuff

QUOTE(am_i_rulez @ Apr 6 2023, 12:44 PM) NVME M2, OS as will only use 1 drive. Then you better get one with onboard DRAM. Cause DRAMless SSD is not really suitable for OS drive. Host Memory Buffer is a 50% scam. Have a look on the list of SSD here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B27...2gT4/edit#gid=0I would stick with Crucial P5 Plus or if you have the money, Crucial T700.

Crucial P5 Plus is out of my budget unless i go for 500gb Btw, i should look for SSD with DRAM right? Okay thanks.
