For Samsung diehards & those not worried bout warranty issues

870 EVO SATA 4TB at USD 300 (lowest ever at Amzn)
https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-Inch-Interna...36GF?th=1&psc=1

Add on USD 24 for shipping+ import tax = $324 = about RM 1.5k
Absolutely beats any local shopee seller

anyone can recommend a good 4TB SATA SSD? both of my 870 EVO are showing signs of rapid degradation and failure and I don't want to wait. I'm going to transfer all the data from both SSDs to a 4TB SATA SSD. please recommend me a good one 🙏

also, anyone ever has experience on RMAing through Amazon? I'm gonna RMA both 870 EVO too.

How old are your 870 EVOs?

4TB sata not many choices locally, crucial mx500 and the, well, 870 EVO. Also i read sumwhere here amazon US will only help within X days of purchase, after dat u deal directly with Samsung USA.

Hello, i just wanted to ask, is the KC3000 still regarded as a decent buy for PCIe 4.0 drives?
*
More than decent lol, it's one of the best performing pcie 4

if you gonna frequently copy huge files to it, good to slap in a heatsink (if your mobo's M.2 slot doesn't hv one)

The next thing to do will be to move around 1.5TB worth of games onto the drive from a 8TB spinner i am emptying to make room for more media which should be a fun test of sustained writes to see if it throttles or not.
Cool mini review. Look forward to seeing if u experience any thermal throttling. U using a heatsink on the drive?

Haih....just wished Transcend would make a 4TB version of MTE220S. Would be the perfect M.2-based TLC storage drive for media & stuff

crucial mx500, is it discontinued? most online shop only selling the 250gb... 500gb/1TB mostly sold out. sweat.gif

Not discontinued. 500/1tb probably sold out cause it's the most popular capacities. I see 256gb, 2tb and 4tb still available

HP Victus gaming desktop TG02, intel i5 12400F
Website does not mention white or blue color port

Can't find the pdf manual from HP site?
Ur desktop not that old (12th gen intel), all SATA ports should be SATA III (6Gbps). I googled a bit, seems the color just for ease of identification. Usually SATA0 for boot drive, the rest u can plug in anything doesn't matter the order as long u configure properly in Bios/uefi

U try to rule out bad sata port or bad cable first.
I assume the ssd is not thermal throttling when writing, based on your temperature in screenshot.

But i think likely cause is one of these:
- drive itself (faulty NAND or controller)
- OS not properly performing TRIM
- drive usage almost full (85% in ur screenshot). Yes, if u didn't overprovision and almost full, ssd write speeds will drop. How bad it drop depends on quality of your drive & other factors. U can google all about this
