something must be wrong somewhere for samsung. i suspect these issues are so hidden that samsung still cannot find them out, and handle them properly until now.

it's up to them to fix the issues, and their reputation. we as consumer always have options. they don't. continuously screwing up high-profile ssd models for few generations is an 'achievement' that no one want to have i think.

in this case, i hope it's the matter of miscalculations (firmware, software), instead of physical stuff like nand.

Would a Gen 5.0 M2 SSD actually offer any practical improvement over a Gen 4.0 SSD? Not in benchmarks but like responsiveness when clicking programs, noticeable faster loading times, etc

This is coming from someone still using the Samsung 840 Pro 120GB SATA SSD lol (My PC is 11 years old)

For such operation, won't notice difference even between SATA and Gen 3 NVME SSD. Program still need to processed by the CPU when loading from SSD, current CPU can't processes GBs of data in a second.
Noticeable difference is when copying data and game that use DirectStorage technology.

So strictly from a price point, might as well stick to SSD's.

FWIW, I did compare running a single 1 Tb Gen3 NVME SSD vs Raid 0 (2x 1Tb Gen3 NVME SSD) and didnt feel any noticeable difference starting/running apps except when maybe booting up.

Those that always copy a lot of data or play latest game that use DirectStorage will see noticeable improvement going with faster NVME. It is also smaller and doesn't need any cable, improvement in space and aesthetic. Pricing for both format also almost similar now. If plan to buy SSD would be better to buy NVME instead of SATA.

KC3000 2TB can get as low as RM725.90 voucher applied at Lazada, although i already bought 1 during 11.11 sales @RM800 and still unused yet, but can't resisted to get another 1 for the other rig.

Tq, once I get my new drive I need to replace my 256gb nvme.

I found YouTube tutorials to clone boot drive to new drive so I don't need to reinstall windows and program files.

You need to collect up the bonus before you can use.

For example, the maximum discount from Lazada bonus for the SSD is rm 80. So means you need to collect up to RM 80 under Lazada bonus.
