If packaged properly and work properly My other option is buy gen4 nvme (way cheaper than 970 evo plus of our shops) i. E aorus gen4 or mp600 2tb at 1.6k Why our shops sell 2.3k T_T

I am planning to get an orico 2.5" sata + MX500 ssd to be used like an external storage disk. This SSD is DRAM, should be ok right? How about TRIM? Will external casing enable TRIM?
purpose of usage - picture and video storage - as a scratch disk for adobe premier (working off directly off the external) - to work off lightroom catalog, preview and smart preview directly off the external
Will the above ssd brand be durable to last long enough?

Getting Started

For a 250GB or 500GB internal SSD, is Samsung currently the best choice considering its price? Am using Samsng 860EVO for almost 5 years already without any problems so far, and planning to add on some more to my storage capacity soon

is NVME backward compatibility? Let's say the laptop is using NVME M2 SSD, can downgrade to SATA M2 SSD? or subject to the motherboard?

NVMe SSD is not compatible with SATA. You need to check the specs for older boards. Not all of them supports. If you are talking about the socket, depends on the motherboard. Most boards today supports both. This post has been edited by TristanX: Jan 7 2021, 05:12 PM

I bought WD SN850 1Tb as boot drive for my coming pc build am thinking of adding another nvme 1tb as extra space for games installation and download/torrent drive should I go for a cheaper gen4 ssd, or gen3 ssd? or go big with another SN850 I passed on the SN850 2Tb because i rather have 2 separate drives

SSD doesn't like too many writes from downloads and torrents.
