Yeah, it is pretty ridiculous. USD 70 per game is upon us.

So many speculations on this thread, most of which all based on guessing. Sorry to say, but you guys don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Be in this industry for a while and you'll understand what you see on the surface is the total opposite of what's happening underneath it.

Now, for more important issues, if you guys got so much time to argue about legal matters and pre-orders, read more on the issues of the PS5 instead - https://www.resetera.com/threads/ps5-troubl...-thread.324889/

No lah bro laugh.gif Besides those who did the preorder by walk in, people like me and others who ordered from senQ online will not be 100% certain we will get it in the first batch.

QUOTE(tohff7 @ Nov 16 2020, 02:42 PM)
I think his assumption is wrong. Based on what we know from here

1. Harvey Norman - 50 units for ALL their chain store
2. SenHeng, Senq - most likely similar to HN situation
3. Sony Stores - I think EVERY of their authorized stores allocated between 100-200 units easily
4. Heavy-Arm, Impulse, Gamer Hideout - I won't be surprised they get more than 200 units because of their # of stores and customer base. Impulse put 25 units on Shopee, then others thru their various branch in JB, Seremban, Sunway. Heavy-Arm only put 10 units on their website (quietly at 3am) but I believe they have a lot of waiting list to fulfill
5. Smaller gameshop - I don't remember seeing any of them revealing their allocated stocks. Personal opinion is that 200 units for a gameshop in Klang Valley is not impossible
*
Sony Centre Vivacity, Kuching which is the only store listed in the authorised pre order list for Sarawak only has 20 units. Read this from a comment in fb from someone who went there to preorder. The rest was put into a waiting list.

Those other local game store here in Kuching has already started taken pre order with minimal deposit since before Sony announce the pre order date and price for Malaysia. When i enquire that time, they have taken the pre order by batches as well, just not very sure how and when are they going to get the actual units.

that's probably R2 version. R2 games usually slightly cheaper.

Oh yes, didn't realise it was R2. Even that is more expensive than our previous usual game price of between RM209 - 229 for R3 PS4 games.

The entire global launch within this year is in the same production cycle, including Malaysia. Don't think Sony has made any revisions to the hardware yet and even if they did, you won't see those units until sometime late in 2021.

Every PlayStation before had a minor hardware revision only after a year of launch. Same goes to pretty much every console ever made. Don't see why or how that's changing, considering there's a pandemic going on.

The difference this time is that if your launch day console were to fail, there are no replacements for you - not immediately at least. Warranty is just a superficial statement.

Well dont be. It's part of being an early adopter. Expect issues, it's pack and parcel of buying any gadgets at launch.

I had issues with my PS4 launch console. I lived. I had to sent my console for repair, and it wasnt the end of the world.

Apparently it's bad, so I would expect it to be half the price in like 6 months.

I haven’t gotten any email for reject yet. But both email and ipay emails received. I noticed those who got rejected was mostly using debit card or bank transfer or didn’t receive official sony purchased email confirmation. Maybe I’m wrong.

Anyway, glad that yours is secured.

Well lucky me in Ipoh. I POed from Sony Ipoh Parade at 10am after the shop open. Nobody waiting there bcoz of MCO and I was the 13th person to paid for the PO. Walk-in, pay the moneh and go back home. After that people start queue for almost 50 pax at 11am laugh.gif

you are lucky, people in ipoh are not so kiasu like here. in the klang valley, those people all line up until you cannot see the line anymore.  sweat.gif

I would say there are less scalpers in the outskirts, and hence easier to preorder there with lesser queues. The amount of scalpers in KV would be..... shakehead.gif

I'm 100% convinced that this is a software issue and they will push a fix very soon.

That may be firmware fixable.

But certain things, like coil whine cannot.
Here's an example of the dumb things Sony didn't contract whoever their PSU OEM was to do:

user posted image

Not even basic hot glue on the copper coils? They're basically naked and under high loads (which will be common), will vibrate so much and you'll hear that dreaded buzzing/whining. EVERY PS5 will suffer with coil whine, until they do something about it. This can't be fixed with a firmware. Then on to the noise the chokes for the APU which will also whine.
