Your connection is correct for optical. Since your sound bar doesn't have ARC port.

Advantage of using ARC is you can use tv remote to control sound bar volume and ON/OFF sound bar.

Latest firmware is V623 and is compatible with P615 (post #24.....list of TCL TV models using same firmware).

It really depends on you. Samsung with 5 years warranty with that price is good. TCL only offer 2 years warranty.

Only drawback of using Samsung is the software. That's my opinion.

can some1 recommend me a 43" model for TCL? and where to get 1 with extended warranty option?

me too in certain HLG video's (HDR10 is OK) with very bright white light (sky bright clouds ,very bright street light).
Maybe this weekend I will check older firmware if happen same.

Edit:
Seemse it happens only on the first playback. If stop and play the same video again, is off and on.....paused ,changed resolution and somehow is gone, but later appear again.
Luckily HLG is not that common.

Thanks for the update. I thought it's related to white balance setting, tried to adjust the WB but the issue still persists...

yes, same experience.

Seems V620 firmware start to appear on "Network Update".

As I understand from Shopee and Lazada browsing, TCL provide 2 years warranty for online, 3 years for direct buy from store.

All models that sold official in Malaysia.
