Guys if you look at it carefully, it is the transmission that make up the difference. CVT fluid only cost 124 something, while DCT fluid cost 500.
I wonder if dual-clutch really mean to be expensive to maintain ?

Tq for this feedback. I'm interested in this vehicle & started researching details before I plunge in. The info you put is certainly of concern!

I find the spec questionable. IMO I feel the vehicle has not got the power (177hp 256nm ) Proton claims. When it struggles against 140hp vehicles, I find this alarming. I dont believe the claimed FC. At the moment dont have any proof on this issue!

Yea it’s fishy and suspicious the way proton ‘claim’ so proudly but failed to demonstrate or rather an overstatement.

I can’t wait to get my car and do a sprint run without ‘launch control’ to see if it’s anywhere near 8 seconds

in some video it seem hrv even beaten the x50 ....

worst of all , Honda hrv and Bmw x1 use the same car while x50 change car twice still fail to secure 100% win doh.gif

Btw just sharing something I noticed is proton maintenance tends to be slightly more expensive than honda as they tend to recommend to change fluids/parts more frequently. Was trying to roughly figure out what's the maintenance cost for x50. Probably not a fair apple to apple comparison but would roughly give you an estimate I guess.

Here another Russian guy testing Geely Coolray aka Proton X50.

Look at clip from 18:00 where he push the car to 190km/hr and then do emergency break. 🙃
That's crazy and dangerous way to test the car at the countryside. 😊

Enjoy the video...

These are servicing costs which is not covered under warranty. Engine oil replacement etc all are costs every car owner will need to pay regardless of the car brands out there (unless they give you some free servicing promotion package when you purchase your car).

I am just trying to highlight one should be aware of the maintenance costs involved because I seen in this forum & other places people are suggesting fresh grad with 4k salary to get proton x50 sweat.gif

It should be. It’s more sophisticated than auto transmission and should be more expensive to maintain. If something is wrong with DCT I doubt if most 3rd party workshops would know how to fix it too. So you might have to go back to the 3S center which of course the charges are higher.

Junior role with 4K to get Standard variant X50 why not ? As long as he has no other commitment, he or she will be fine

I'm quite surprised that so many people here are nitpicking on all the little things about the X50.

Right off the bat - it's a great car, first impressions are nothing disappointing. Most also comparing 0-100km/h times like it's a necessity, how many of you are going to be sprinting like that everyday ah?

Regarding maintenance, it's obviously going to be expensive la.
Turbo-charged engine + DCT (look-up Volkswagens as a rough example) + 17"/18" wheels + all the electronics in the world. You seriously can't expect maintenance to be cheaper or similar to a simplified Honda/Perodua?

I think it is because there is a comparison with Geely version that people are expecting better from Proton.
Also, I think its a good warning about the maintenance. Not many people who have purchased local cars would know about it.
Heck my Myvi maintenance is only 200.

I guess all depends on the car pricing, hopefully the standard would be priced around 75k so that would be not too bad but still I wouldn't suggest a freshie to commit something of that amount. A second hand car with saving up for a property would be my preferred choice tbh but thats a topic for another day. Not related to this thread tongue.gif

Heard training also postpone, so I dont expect so soon. Hopefully gov extend the tax la, then we can get a 2021 car with a cheaper price cool2.gif

Usually when there is nothing else to talk bad about it so I guess nitpicking on those is the only thing to go for rolleyes.gif After all its a proton, so expect some haters out there laugh.gif laugh.gif No matter how much they nitpick about the car, end of the day it will be the best selling car in 2021 regardless because overall it's still one of the best car out there right now. When your product is good, it will sell itself without the need to advertise too much on it.

As for the maintenance, no doubt it will be expensive therefore its good for members to understand this hence I shared it, not everyone might be aware of this or thought of it. Especially times like this when economy is bad, one should buy only within their affordability capability.
